We aren't. Our history of bad hires has just put us behind. But Mark Richt and Kirby Smart were the last 2 coaches at UGA who had no prior HC experience. UF tried with Zook, Muschamp, and McElwain before they could get Mullen. Lincoln Riley, Ryan Day, and Dabo Swinney all didn't have prior HC experience, but two were stepping into great situations. Auburn just hired Boise State's coach, and LSU has a coach who was 10-25 at OM. We aren't the only ones...at all...but we have to hire the correct one.

I feel like history is your favorite subject 👀😅 non the less...right on🤘🏽🤘🏽

Ok, gonna give this another shot.

Here's a breakdown of a few 2017 Missouri games using two things.

1. Missouri's expected offensive efficiency (ESPN) given their talent. (53.62, slightly above average)

2. Opponents' actual defensive efficiency reported for 2017. We're measuring the value added by Heupel, without taking into account sucky coaches (thanks Morris/Arky...)

I'll then take the differences and use them to compare against Tennessee's 2020 schedule, for example:
2017 Missouri expected offense: 53.62
2017 Florida actual defense: 59.1
Difference: -5.48

2020 Tennessee expected offense: 64.95
2020 Texas A&M actual defense: 69.9
Difference: -4.95

Now for the results

South Carolina: L 31-13
Talent Diff: -12.68
Similar 2020 Defense: Alabama (-12.65)

Kentucky: L 34-40
Talent Diff: +10.12
Similar Opponent: Florida (+10.05)

Florida: W 45-16
Talent Diff: -5.48
Similar Opponent: Texas A&M (-4.95)

Tennessee: W 50-17
Talent Diff: +6.52
Similar Opponent: LSU (+5.35)

Vanderbilt: W 45-17
Talent Diff: +16.62
Similar Opponent: Missouri (+28.25)

So in summary, with our roster, Heupel’s results at Missouri were equivalent to scoring (in 2020 w/ Tennessee):

13 points on Bama
34 on Florida
45 on A&M
50 on LSU
45 on Missouri
I gotta headache from trying to deduct all that learnin'. Are you sayin' we gonna be good this year?
Simple yes or no will do :):):)

I was never really on or off honestly more less just waiting to get on.😭😂 for our sake I hope it works out and Danny White looks like a hero in all of this..I’m tired of losing but I’m always annoyed at the fact we are the only university taking chances on “unknowns/unproven” coaches at a high level major university.when others do what they need to do in order to win immediately.I’ll always want the best for tennessee no matter who’s coach but the administration sometimes makes it hard.
I don't know about that one.

Auburn got turned down about 8 times before landing on Bryan Harsin. That's a school that plays basically the same schedule as us and has roughly the same expectations as us.

Is Harsin a much better candidate than Heupel? I don't know. No SEC experience. More HC experience in a worse conference than the AAC.

They actually keep that stuff locked up pretty good.

When I was just a peon back in the day, the only way i saw the board was when my boss needed me to deliver something to the coaches in their war room - and i had to do a quick peek - never got to see it in detail.

That stuff was under tight watch.
When i said draft board me and my guys have our own board of “draft prospects” that we are assigned to pull footage on. I have no idea how they are ranked or who likes who more. Jahmir isn’t on there and there’s literally Ike 50 tackles.

Advice from a 53 year old. Get the best mattress you can afford, take acid reflux med, and drink plenty of water while enjoying your choice of adult beverages. Hang in there guys! Just gotta change your strategy.
Advice from a 63 year old, don't get drunk and you don't have to worry about hangovers. Simple solution. You're welcome.

IMO - But I truly believe we can split the 50/50 for 7-5. Maybe pull one upset (like UF like you said but doubt it).

I for one still believe we have more talent than all the 50/50 games. If we beat all of them somehow and finished 9-3, I would go ballistic.
I think all those 50/50 games are winnable i really do. I’m not buying the hype on ole miss.

So essentially they are taking the same gamble as us👀 that really makes me feel better 😂 because I hate feeling alone in all these disappointments 💆🏽‍♂️🤘🏽

I see a lot of people chalking up Pitt as a toss up. I guess that surprises me.

I'll be surprised if we lose that game. I would say Pitt is a dub and USC is a toss up. I don't think USC is so talent deficient that they won't be competitive next year.
