the biggest misconception in diversity hiring is that hiring a person of color means you’re sacrificing quality.

What your doing is giving a person of color with comparable resume and qualifications a shot to **** things up as badly as the previous non-diverse hire did. LOL

Isn’t it just as racist to strike out on five black guys and keep passing up the white guy who is also a good fit for the job? At some point you have to decide you tried to do your part and just take the best candidate, even if he is a whitey.

Hahah I’m sorry I’ve clearly offended you. Must be rough hanging on every word of a message board insider.
Must be rough not having the common sense to realize nothing on a MB should be taken as gospel, even if it's from an insider. People can be wrong. Situations can change. Real life is always moving. Tearing down others because you hate yourself isn't going to change things. So what if AV misses on predictions? Doesn't change the good deeds he's done. Doesn't justify you being an ass hat.

That what I’m talm’bout
If I’m not mistaken they are taking a page out of the Military Book. I would assume they will switch guys up and make them do that same thing each day to build Teamwork/Accountability/Leadership.

It’s what I would do with my Platoon when I was a Platoon Leader. I would have new guys lead PT every day so that they learned and gained those key lessons.

Just a thought / observation. We have more people on this current Tennessee Football staff that went to UT and are True VFLs than any staff I can ever remember..... and you guys are worried....
When has that ever mattered at any program in history? Name the top 25 programs and I'd bet none of them have a HC or majority of staff who are alum. Ask JH if he would recommend anyone coach at their Alma mater lol. People get so hung up on "getting Tennessee guys." Yes you can find a few exceptions where it worked, but it's far from the norm.

Well said, but if the primary qualification is skin color, I think that's a problem. Get a pool, and if you truly are open minded in building your pool, there will be minority candidates in it.

To further that point, consider that DW is the ultimate insider, and consider how many times during this process, whether hiring the HC or the DC, that he thought had a deal closed. Basic terms agreed to, but then when it came to signing the MOU, the coach changed his mind. By all accounts, it's happened several time already. Now consider what a complete flake DW would look like if every time he thought he had it closed he came on here and posted that news. Now just imagine what some of the folks around here would be saying to him, and about him.
