Here is a question for the group. Knowing absolutely nothing about what is happening behind the scenes, would you be less satisfied with a DC that is young and has been super successful at a smaller school or lesser division if he were thought to be a defensive innovator of sorts by the coaching community in general but not known to the average fan ? Or do we have to have someone that has either been known to have had some amount of success at a larger school or the Pros even if they are not the Home Run hire?

Im js, if I was a high profile recruit, and it looked certain that I was going to one school, I would feed smoke to the media just to have some fun

That's what he said a Wofford player told his mon. Conklin is coming to UT. Who really knows though.

HA. Come on why would I make up going on a visit to Wofford. Ha! I know blue font but seriously @MoCo_Vol can vouch for me. I could ball back in the day.

Yep, pretty sure you had interest from a few schools at the FCS level. Maryville & Carson Newman are two I remember as well, but it's been a bit so I could have those wrong. Our FB from the team you played on would have had a legit shot playing at the college level as well had he taken the school part a bit more serious.

Our starting QB off that team did play at Maryville College as well.

Number 55 in the recruiting rankings and never higher than mid 40's so he should maybe start playing the video to higher rated recruits if he wants to be the best and not just better.
