So Pat Summit did. She pioneered having former high school and even college men’s players practice against her teams. Made them tougher and that’s how they dominated for years. I talked to guys that scrimmaged against her teams, they routinely beat the guys pretty badly. The refs didn’t call fouls on the guys. Pat wanted them to be rough and they were and still got schooled by girls.
If you think that the best girls teams could ever even compete, much less beat the best mens teams..you are crazy Doc.

I love a good folk tale as much as anyone, but a good AAU middle school team would beat the women's NCAA champion every single season.

That isn't a knock on women's sports, it's just reality. And it's why the integrity of women's athletics needs to be protected from men who can stroll in and dominate with zero of the hard work and dedication being put in by the women.

5 months later, I still haven’t got my compete taste and smell back. Suxs when you cook for a living.
I still can't smell well either...glad to know I'm not the only one, but it does have one great upside though..I can't smell bad stuff either.

Things are bad. We live in a broken world full of lost people. We are raising men to be women and vice versa. We have trivialized God's plan for marriage and children and are reaping the consequences. HOWEVER. We have hope in Christ. I went to bed last night watching half a dozen deer in my yard. Got up this morning watching squirrels and and assortment of birds. We get to follow sports in the SE freaking C. We have a coach that knows that the team that scores the most points win. God is GOOD!! GO VOLS!!
Magic sky daddy says being yourself is bad!

I binged the first season Monday night...that first episode wrecked me, and so did the Nicodemus scene. My uncle used to preach a sermon he called "Almost" and it brought it flooding back to my mind.
I don't think I've ever seen a more powerful scene in history outside of the visceral beating Christ took in The Passion, as Erik Avari as Nicodemus in episode 7.
I wept like a child... When Nico embraces him and that Cello starts playing... A deep note within me was struck, and vibrated my soul to it's core.

With as bad as things seem sometimes, I HAVE to be hopeful. If I don't have hope, I don't have much of anything.
I am extremely hopeful..just not about this Godless insane world we live in. I don't think it is ever going to get better again, just worse from here on out till the end...but then things will be awesome...forever 😎

Hebrews 11:13-16..32-40.

Spot on.

Since we know what we know, why keep on banging our heads against the wall? Have relationships with and help the people around you and move on from the nonsense. The social engineers in every aspect of society can pound sand.
Well said...there are still some searching for light, and we have to be there for them, it is hard because I am human and get so aggravated at things..I confess my fault in this, but we have to keep our lights on.

I was thinking as I read through this that I feel like McGill....hate the insane world we live in.

Wait. Since I feel this way, does that make me a McGill?
Heck yeah..

Sorry you all are feeling that way this morning (or last night). I LOVE this insane world we live in.

God made it for you and me to enjoy the journey we are on. I think the best thing we can do is try to make it a comfortable trip for our fellow travelers.

CNN will tell you the world is going to hell because of XYZ. Switch to Fox News and they will tell you the world is going to hell because of 1,2,3.

Come join me in the turkey woods this time of year right as dawn breaks and the sun lights up the redbuds and dogwoods and the birds break into song; or on a trout stream when the bugs are hatching and the stream side moss and ferns are so many shades of green you are not sure there’s even a human word to describe the variety.

This world is only as ugly as the stuff you choose to focus and dwell on and stew about.

If you ever have the epiphany like the great Thomas Merton that God exists fully in every person you meet (no matter how messy they may outwardly appear) you will be overcome by how wonderful and exciting this world is and how amazing it is just to meet new people, new and unique iterations of God.

Also, Go Vols!

That scene at the end of episode one was close. Mr Avari shocked me with his performance..it was truly powerful. The show makes me really jealous of the early believers.
