Bailey is QB1 Maurer just too chaotic and feels like he’s going to force too many ill advised throws. Throws off the back foot and tries to be too flashy imo. HB makes the right reads and seems safer but can still stretch the field.
And he’s still developing timing and chemistry with his receivers imo. All that being said, the Jump To Conclusions board is as full up post exhibition as it has been all Spring. This ain’t decided any more now. Still a lot of teaching and opportunity to be had. Maybe we can retire some of the Bailey narratives (hopefully the tired Chaney version) and have an open mind..ahhh eff that! #Boring

100%. It’s HB or Milton. Maurer will transfer. Hooker sucks
To be fair, Hooker showed some wiggle on his short runs. Like Dobbs, his full value won't be seen in a scrimmage or practice.

That said, he better be a heck of a runner to make up the difference, at least from my amatuer eyes, between him and Bailey in the passing game.

Now, after today, let’s discuss the “coach speak” that we argued about over the last few months:

Coaches said we will tailor offense to players strength (Coach Golech just reiterated that 3 days ago!) and many said all staffs and coaches say that.

After today, is there any argument to that statement? Each QB had plays set up for their skill sets and it was very evident.

I wonder what Salter would have looked like
Legs would have been limited as no one risks running the QB in a scrimmage.

Strong arm, nice deep ball.

Quick twitch. Gamer.

Needs work in short/mid throws.

Total guess of what he would have looked like from everything I gathered out of HS. Big time player, needs mechanical work as his HS offense was overly simplistic/he did'nt have the oppurtunities to develop all-around game. Saw him in E11 competition and his short/mid throws were 100% honestly dreadful looking. Great prospect for a coach like Hype. Could have him top of the SEC by his SO/JR year. Probably wouldn't sniff the field FR year though.

Anyone saying this is a five year rebuild is crazy. Media just wants to lower expectations of our program. We have to stop doing that. One thing I am confident in, Danny White and Heup want to win now. They don’t want to start winning years from now. I guarantee we see more leave and more transfers in the summer. We will look much different in the fall and that is a good thing.

Still feel this way after today? We looked ok but there are a lot of holes in this team.

He got the first snaps lol. Don’t let busted coverages fool you. They all looked fine.
Maurer just feels like big play or bust. He throws off balance all the time and just feels like he’s trying to make “the play” all the time where as bailey is more poised and controlled even though it’s not flashy.

What are your thoughts? Bailey looked pretty great. Hooker, until the last drive was very meh. I think we will score some points this year.
I liked the energy all around. I thought they OL looked good. Granted they weren’t really going against dominate pass rush but no big blown assignments i didn’t see. Little disappointed with the secondary. Couple of baileys early passes including the touchdowns were just bad blown coverages. Thought all the QBs did good stuff tho. It’s hard to tell Bc there’s not a true pocket you know. I thought Fant did some nice things. I like 14 and 20 on defense. Also think the other Garland kid looks ok at LB. also like tamarian McDonald. All and all was good. Feel really sorry for our LB coach. Going from 2 1st rounders in bush and pay to what we got now haha
