Itās seeing success on the Premier League level that will inspire athletes to turn their focus to soccer. There is TONS of money to be made worldwide on soccer. If a tenth of the athletes that focus solely on football, basketball, and baseball decided to focus on soccer instead then the US would be unstoppable
i stopped lifting heavy weight (maxing, >8 repetitions)around 31. started high repping, concentrating on legs. was always my favorite workout. ill spare you the weight range. best gains were always after worked out my legs.To prepare for a Ski trip in January, I did 9,100 squats over 6 weeks. My legs have never felt better on a ski trip. I would do body weight squats for a hundred then do a hundred with a 70 lb backpack on. It beat me up, but became addictive too. Skied my arse off for 3 days at 18-20k vertical feet daily and felt great at the end of each day...
And havenāt done a dang thing since. I need to get back to routine workouts again, but work has been beating me up and I barely get my paperwork done before bedtime...
Ideas like reparations have the opposite effect. For instance, the restaurant industry is currently in turmoil as employees have quit because they can make more $ off unemployment / latest āCovidā stimulus Bill. One might argue that if minimum wage was $15/hr this would not occur. Not true. The 1st āCovidā Bill actually left many making $50k+ per year to make more when laid off as well. Some people will never dig out of a financial hole. They will always need help. Others who can will not try when given something. All those restaurant employees who quit for the short term benefit will start over again and not be next in line for manager / etc. I walked into a fast casual restaurant yesterday to grab a quick to go before kids games. There was only a cook. One of a few people seated said you had to order from their app. I walked out as Iām a bit lazy with apps. That restaurant will go out of business. They had to change their business model with no workers.... Reparations and bills supporting the unemployed will benefit some till they get on their feet but most will blow it quickly and remain stuck in the same grind. People have to want / aspire to something not be given it for long term success. My parents received checks from the āCovid billsā. They have been retired for some time and donāt need it. Just more wasteful government spending that really doesnāt help as intended. JMO...Come on, McGill. It's fine if to say you don't agree about reparations without saying it like this.

My issue was not with his disagreement with reparations, it was with how he delivered it.Ideas like reparations have the opposite effect. Would be wary of that, but @Jaws is always quick to tell us that landing transfers is preferable to keeping your own recruits.![]()
Nothing? Serious?!?Iād still like a response to this since my head is obviously too far in the sand to understand whatās going on.
Why do NFL players kneel for the American National Anthem but when games are played in London they stand respectfully for the British National Anthem after kneeling for ours?
To fill in the blanks for those who may not get my point, slaves were brought to the Americas under the British flag and pushed onto many British Colonists who opposed this action. Within 25 years of this countries founding the International Slave Trade was made illegal.
Thatās not our issue with US soccer...... the main issue is that to reach/ get noticed on that level then the kids parents have to be really wealthy.Itās seeing success on the Premier League level that will inspire athletes to turn their focus to soccer. While I think the kneeling is stupid, they claim they're kneeling because of current injustices, not past ones. Although I'm guessing African-Britains have some grievances they could tout as kneel-worthy. People over there in Europe are much more overtly racist than here, most have no idea how progressive most of America is compared to the rest of the world when it comes to race, ethnicity, and nationality.Iād still like a response to this since my head is obviously too far in the sand to understand whatās going on.
