If you’ve seen what our facilities look like vs the rest of the conference, it is. We don’t have the money to fix it immediately. It’ll take a decade. Especially with neyland renovation taking precedence

A decade? This is the SEC, don’t you know it just means more? Tony V loves bein a builder and having say on how things are built. The only reason he’d leave is if Danny dubs tells him no, which would be idiotic on his part. Baseball can be a revenue generating sport if we allow it.

Whenever I see "Phil" mentioned on VN, my thoughts immediately go to Fulmer. Your golf talk is leaving me confused. Can't you just call him "Lefty"?
I have always called him Phil, he was just Phil before anybody dubbed him Lefty along the way...but I will try to remember from now on.

Six years later and it still hurts. That was the moment to change the storyline of UT football, to loudly announce that we were well and truly “back,” and we choked away a 17-point lead.

I will never get over it.

I bet Butch was at least here 1 more year if we win that game. I think you're right, that was a monumental failure at a shot to turn the tide. What could have been.

Any of you guys seen Tayven Jackson's stats? I was kinda excited for him but then I looked at them and I'm not really pumped for him as much anymore. His 2019 season was awful to put it lightly and his 2020 season was just okay. Am I missing something here? Someone talk me off the ledge please
I talked to P5 staff member who said they had Jackson at or near the top of their board. They see him as a game changer and were very disappointed when he chose the Vols

For those who were surprised when he wasn’t on the initial roster..

This dude was one of the most criticized players when he was here. I think he was great. His handle was not perfect, but he was great at seeing the floor, getting it to the scorers, great defensive player and severely underrated. Glad he is on the roster.

Pruitt didn’t get fired for his win/loss record.

When you treat Staff & school personal the way he did you’re bound to be let go. He wasn’t successful enough to do that. JP no doubt has a great football mind but he has no clue on how to run a staff. De1 can say what he wants, most of the time he has been right but with Pruitt he’s way off.

We should have headed the warning from Coach YAC.
Pruitt was fired because the Haslam camp saw a chance to get rid of Fulmer so they blew nothing up into something. That whole mess was more about CPF than Pruitt.

I know what is going to happen..We are not going to put up crazy point totals against really good teams with good defenses most of the time..because they are really good teams, and we are not right now.

I would like to see what he can do with top 10-15 talent at most offensive positions though.

I for one am absolutely sick of struggling to score on crap teams..bring on the blowouts of those types, and then we can worry about leveling the playing field on the best.

If kiffin can score that many points against bama with ole miss talent, then I am fully confident in Coach Heupel can do the same.

I am amazed yet again by pruitt’s ineptitude. Kiffin knew how to scheme against the bama defense since he was their OC. Yet as their former DC, pruitt couldn’t scheme a plan to even slow them down on offense (touted defensive guru 😳) Nor could he show his offense how to scheme against the bama defense (that he should know like the back of his hand) I most sincerely hope that Karma comes around and flattens him for all the misery that he inflicted upon the Volunteer faithful.

Seeing as Kiff has a one year head start..it is not going to be on level footing, and the Kiff slurpers on here will be unbearable.

With the state of our defense, and our offense having to learn to go complete 180 from what they did before, and what they were recruited to do...I give Kiff a big edge in that game.

Nope. You can quote me: WGWTFA!

This ^ for the most part. Just a game different on each side from my perspective on floor and ceiling.

Floor of 6 if injuries hit. Ceiling of 9 if it all falls into place. 7-8 wins is my expectation. We've got some good first team SEC type players. Need depth for the uptempo system as it also puts the D on the field for more snaps. How that develops and any serious injuries sustained will determine the final result IMO.

I will give you your floor prediction. There’s no ceiling where I sit. Beautiful sky that’s the limit. I see 15 as the top limit, but that’s only because there would be no more opponents to beat.

Our HC has his guys on the offensive side. Please see our Spring game. Didn’t matter which players were on the field, coaches had plays for each players strength and utilized it.

Our HC for the first time since he has even been an OC has a really good defensive coaching staff. The only team that they cannot stop will be the one that they practice against. Most of the transfers have been defensive players. I think that we will see a different defense when they don’t have to go against CJH. Just watch.

DCJW...WGWTFA!

I am VolsDoc and I am an OptiVOL!

All the “realists” are gonna get steamrolled!(not directed at you Vols4us at all)
I am plum tired of low expectations. We win them all.

As Knute Rockne said, “We didn’t lose, we just ran out of time.” I never ever felt like a loser when Johnny was the HC. I didn’t feel like a loser through the majority of CPF’s tenure. But started to know which games we would lose before kickoff. Then starting with kiffin, I felt like a loser. That ended when pruitt wad fired. A VFL should never feel like a loser. It’s unnatural. The hiring of CJH has restored the balance of my universe. 🤠

Look at Vols softball, tennis, golf, baseball, and basketball! Now we’re starting to roll!
