#5 "...or contacts the fielder"Per section “b” of this rule the base runner can perform a “pop-up” slide. The rule doesn’t state anything about an arm making contact with the fielder on a legal slide. Nothing about his slide was illegal. If I’m Tony V I’m fighting for an over ruling.
He/she is probably getting at the fact that ya can't use it to just go out and hit somebody or body them up.Sure it does. Why wouldn't it? A chip is a chip.
Praying for you and the family. Mother-in-laws' have the reputation only because they care about their little girls...like we do. I know your wife is hurting, so be present for her. That is the most important thing.I post this with a heavy heart today. My mother-in-law passed away this morning. She was a wonderful person with a heart of gold who lived a long and prosperous life--(96) years. Her body just couldn't go any more . My wife is having a difficult time today but she's a strong person and understands that her mom is in a much better place today. I've heard all the horror stories about mother-in-law's but she was truly a gift in my life. She will definitely be missed. RIP mom.
If the fielder is in the field of play, you can absolutely make contact. I didn't see the play in question, but was it an obvious nut punch, or could it be argued as incidental contact? So, in you guys opinion, if you slide at the bag, you can punch the fielder in the bag? You guys have convinced yourself that is within the rules?
