I don’t need the government telling me to be a decent human being or mandating it to me.They have their noses in my business too much already.

I'm not advocating government intervention. I'm just explaining why some things are good examples of free enterprise, and others aren't.

Although I'll pretty sure that if scalpers were snatching all of a critical simply, like water or gasoline, and refusing to sell it to you at reasonable prices, you'd change your tune pretty quickly. Such monopolies have happened, and governments have been needed to break them up.

What real substance do scalpers offer??????!!!! Their "service" is buying the ticket before anyone else.
When they truly act as brokers and get tix to interested buyers who normally wouldn’t have access to those tix, I.e., like some do at football games, I appreciate what they do. I’ve bought from them many times and don’t mind paying a little extra for the access.

But yeah, when they abuse their access and scarf up all the tix that should be available to the general public, then something’s wrong. The tix are intended for fans, not profiteers.

I’m in Utah and can’t go anyway, but I can understand why people would be upset. Do we know that’s happening or just speculating?

Same thing happens with music festivals. As soon as ACL tickets opened up this year it was sold out. Brother in law works for Ticketmaster and they have bots that buy up the tickets and then they sell it on their site for triple the price.

Doubt that’s happening here, but who knows. It’s certainly possible.

In regards to the potential baseball stadium upgrades, it would be stupid to use the minor league stadium. It needs to stay on campus, whether it be a new location or upgrading LNS. Secondly, they not only need to extend the stadium down the left field line, but also they need to get rid of that god awful view of the broke ass train cars (or whatever that is out there) in the outfield. The university needs to buy that land and develop it and use part of that land for outfield stands.

Agree to disagree. If I was in the position of a natural disaster survivor, I’d rather a bunch of dudes stock up on water and risk driving into a disaster area to make a buck selling it than no water at all.
What if you didn't have ten dollars for life giving water? Only the fortunate with money deserve life...amirite?

Look..price gouging is an evil practice. You have to do some things from the heart...or you're supposed to anyway.

I am a conservative, but the answer to stuff like that is somewhere in the middle...and I think tickets to a state school game should be fairly distributed to everyone...not just for a few wealthy. On the other hand, anything owned and operated by owners as a for-profit professional league is fair game imo....get all you can.

The park rangers kill wild boar in the GSMNP all of the time. They left it up to the general public to hunt them and it failed miserably. So they do it using night vision and cameras. Kill them, haul them off to wild animal bone yard of sorts and let the scavengers have at them.
I believe it if they are deemed Invasive species. They are extremely destructive.

Very few fans paid attention to a major problem for the program. Facilities. They stink compared to at least 10 other SEC programs alone. But now that the program is winning at a high level, all of sudden people have woken up and are starting to realize it. No, you can't bandaid LNS. This is a major overhaul of not just the ball park, but the area around the ball park. If Neyland was not Neyland along with the Anderson training facility and was something like LNS, it would be dang near impossible to recruit quality players and turn the football program around. If TBA was Candyland - same issue. The quality players simply have better options.

I know I sound like broken record, but baseball is big in TN and the region. Quality players are all around us and more can be developed if they know they have a shot at being a Vol someday. UTAD wants revenue. In the proper environment baseball will produce really good revenue to help subsidize other non-revenue sports and any debt incurred in building the facility. Baseball is a big addition to the quality of life on campus for students, fans, and businesses. Go do what so many other SEC schools have already recognized and done. Hopefully, it is well underway now that we have a real AD. The relocation and new Smokies park will just add synergy to the sport in the market, especially since the seasons and game times have minimal overlap. Bet you will find some Vol players in the Smokies park watching games at times. Think the Cubs might have a scout or two watching the Vol talent as well as their opponents?

He is not. Park rangers kill wild boar all the time. They have multiple traps at SSP.

Yep. He changed his tune when he saw it on their own website. Those animals are the most destructive there is in the parks because man is their only real predator. Other predators will generally only go after the piglets. They are studying if coyotes are ganging up on them sometimes because of the hog hair they are finding in their scat. But it could be just the younger, smaller hogs they are killing. We are overrun with them around here as well. Shoot on sight is the motto.

Season tickets for baseball is usually super cheap and if these people had season tickets than they would have been guaranteed tickets for the super regional….. The majority of the fans complaining about this haven’t been there during the building of this program. If you aren’t there during the hard times then you don’t deserve to be there during the good imo.
As for the water issue…… during the 90’s, fans were passing out during the UCLA game….. The university wouldn’t give fans ice/water without charging them full price for a soda. I remember people were pissed at Dickey over that.

I remember that game. My wife and I were two of the people nearly passing out it was so hot.

I'm really glad new folks are getting behind the team. But they have zero right to complain about the ticket situation unless they are blocked from getting them and have been season ticket holders.

I think our beef is lack of an app or web based way to order tickets. Did you fax in your info for season tickets?
