Don't you start. No other animal on earth kills just for the joy of it. Or to just deprive others of their same species food. It doesn't help Im reading Shadow Country about the pioneers in southwest Florida around the turn of the 19th century and they basically hunted about everything in the area to extinction for greed.

Are you insinuating that most hunters and fishers are "poachers" or are you saying that most poachers (those that hunt/fish illegally) do it for pride? By the way, you can use a deer for food and still have a mount for the wall.

My cat kills things for the joy of hunting. He has no interest in eating the little bunny, bug, wasp or other things he kills.

Teddy also started the national park system. He also hunted over 100 years ago. About all the animals he killed were for the Smithsonian and other museums which at the time probably seemed like a good idea. I like to think he would have a different view of how humans have f'd up every aspect of nature they have touched.

He absolutely did not hunt just for the Smithsonian. He was an absolute hunting addict. He’d track Buffalo for days.
