My question is... How sustainable is this baseball teams success? Obviously we are going to make it to the super regionals every year, but can we expect to make the tournament again next year or is it too early to tell? I know we have a lot of seniors on the team so I suspect we will take a step back next year right?

With transfer rule now, you can turn rosters over. I will be interested to see how much interest Vitello gets from possible transfers. We have a great class coming, but a couple may get drafted high. We also have a few that will develop: Tidwell will be an elite Friday starter, and I think Kyle Booker will be really good. Gilbert and Beck are back.

We may not be overall #3 seed material next year, but we are definitely a tournament team and may host a regional again.

Could you explain the how recruiting numbers work? It says we have 21 verbal commitments...certainly we can't actually take more than a few per year though, right? How does that play out - going from 21 verbals to the few that actually get scholarships?
A lot of them will forgo college and go straight to the minors

For some reason baseball only gets 11.7 scholarships, and they can be divided into small fractions (like a kid getting a 25% scholarship). They try to make up the difference with need-based aid.

Also, many kids take walk-on scholarships for baseball.

It's a dumb system.

Do you know how many are allowed to sign each year? Is there a cap? Aren't most baseball scholarships only partial, not full scholarships?

Don't know about a cap but don't think so. Only 11.7 scholarships to go around, so most are partial.

I was talking with a couple of friends the other night, and the suggestion was to reduce football by 10 and give to baseball. That would spread some talent (Bama/Clemson, etc. would still be good) in football and even up the baseball disparities a little more. The way it is now gives a school like Vandy a huge advantage.

You mean to tell me that it took him till after having sex to notice it was a guy.
The first encounter just involved him getting a hummer from who he thought was a girl. The second encounter is when he found the "surprise" and then he beat the dude to death. Here's a tip for meeting strangers the first time-----women don't have an adams apple !!!!!

Animals provide more than just food. Of course we eat them, but they also provide clothing and other materials. As long as the animal isn’t endangered and hunting is legal, there’s nothing wrong at all in killing animals and putting them to use. It would be wrong if you killed them and left them laying there to rot.

Putting them "to use" is the subjective issue. Putting a head on a wall is not putting it to use IMO. Harvesting an animal and processing the meat to feed your family is definitely putting it to good use. Making a rug, not so much. Trophy hunting is not putting an animal to good use, whether its here, Africa or the north pole. Its vanity. You can justify it however you want but at its root its an evil act.

Unlike other sports players are cut frequently….. if guys on campus don’t show potential then they are gone.
