And thats another good point. We have penalties lingering over our heads when DW took the job. What top level coach would want to leave a their job they built up to come to a school with penalties lingering and in total chaos.

DW did a great job at UCF and I believe he will do the same here but you can't blame him for not hiring top level football that ship sailed three coaches ago.

We'll see how it all works out. I don't dislike DW, but I would be hard pressed to say he's "earned my confidence". Conversely, my confidence in him doesn't mean squat because I didn't hire him, not could I fire him. As a fan, all I can do is hope he makes good choices. And that is still TBD.

Common sense for most.. I just don’t understand the DW hate. He took on a huge crap storm, and I think he has done great so far, given the circumstances. It’s just natural UT fan nature to hate the AD.. sometimes without good reasons like now

We got to right the sinking ship first and who is to say that we didn't steal a gem from UFC. I know I am going to enjoy watching an offense actually score points. lol

No doubt. If we run off a guy like Danny White and criticize him 6 months on the job after the AD’s we have had for 20 years, we just need to shut down the department. No sense in even trying because no one would make people happy.

Except I don't hate him. I remain neutral on him. Despite what some seem to think, there is a middle ground. Nott all in or all out. I'm still waiting for him to impress me. He's done some things I like on a smaller scale, but it's the big scale things that ultimately matter. I will say this, getting TV re-signed would be a HUGE confidence builder for me. On the flip side, I'm not gonna blame him if TV bolts. If TV leaves, I don't think it's from lack of trying on our part. But back to my point, I do NOT hate DW.

That's just it. We haven't seen any football yet from this new staff. We don't know yet what we really have. I HOPE it's something special, but as of right now, hope is all we have. We have zero proof until football season starts.

You guys do know living in reality does not equate to being negative, right?

Only until actual football is played, no one really knows. 3 years from now, DW could look like a genius. Or we could still suck in football while Auburn and SCar are tearing it up. We don't know yet. We all hope for the best, but hope and reality aren't always the same. And again, that's not negativity, it's just reality.

I didn't take what you said to be negative. I just didn't agree with your opinion that DW should have brought in a top level coach seeing the condition our program is in. And hasn't every season been a wait and see but we hope with all hope that maybe just maybe we see some promise for the future of this program? I have hope every year but I can say that if Pruitt was still here I doubt I would have much hope. Hype gives me that new hope that maybe we finally get the fire right.

I've never posted Vitello is going to LSU. I don't know that. None of us do. We all know there is a chance of it happening.

On the surface completely agree. We have no idea how this will turn out though. Danny White and Heupel have a lot of work to do. For all we know Clark Lea will beat the tar out of everybody. Fun fact: I had to google to confirm that was Vandy’s head coach.

Only I didn't express I wanted to run him off. Saying I'm not confident in him YET is not saying I want to run him off.
