I was there too with my then-girlfriend, now wife. I remember walking back to my car and her sadly saying "I thought I was going to get to say I was your good luck charm." I will never get over it.
Think that was bad….. should have been there for 90 Bama….. one of our most talented offense of all time…. We lose 9-6 to Bama…… …. 2 of the most depressing plays of all time….. Greg Amsler trying to jump over the pile from the four yard line on fourth down….. trying a game winning field goal….. it was blocked and rolled down the field to a point where Bama could kick the winning field goal.

Wouldn't be an issue if we enacted my national "vasectomy at birth" plan...

Young peeps could do what comes natural without having to worry about pregnancy...no more unwanted births, abortions, etc and a man could only sire children once he's mature and financially responsible enough to afford and make the conscious decision to reverse the vasectomy.

Zero idea how medically reasonable this is, but I say let's roll the dice for a generation and see how it goes 😁

Have always assumed you were a good touch left of center. Based on this post I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Usually tell them idc who you are, I don't take **** from you or anyone. That scare tactic bull is so childish.

Respect is earned, not demanded.
Until you have had a daughter of your own, you cannot fully understand how that protective mechanism kicks in. But go ahead with your Badass attitude. I'm sure that will endear you to a lot of parents.

I’d say that turned out ok.

I learned to moderate my fandom that night. Hell of a nut punch, but I’ve had a much better perspective on games since.

And we came so close to beating bama.. it was right there. Closest we had been since the mount Cody incident
Just thought of Mount Cody last week...a blocked FG from keeping Saban from his 1st title at Bama and Kiffin would have scored a major win and finished 8-4 in Y1...maybe realized how high his ceiling was here.

Maybe it changed nothing...or maybe it changed everything. 😔

It is what it is. If I had a daughter, yes you are correct, I will be protective, and when she brings her first guy home I will sit there and talk to him man to man and tell him like it is. I’m not going to threaten some kid.

FWIW I still think Saban would have won the title that year. He'd still have won the West and blasted UF. But yes, I wanted that one bad, too. I was in my apartment in Boulder and remember screaming when Crompton threw that pass to the TE to get us in field goal range. I thought we were going to win. Once it was blocked I reflexively turned the TV off and walked to the corner store to get alcohol.

Lol that sounds familiar...maybe that's too risky after all. I just keep seeing really old (middle and HS) exes...they were so attractive at the time and now they look like their mom and it ain't good. Gotta play the long-game young folks. My Venezuelan MiL is a 10/10 (with all respect) and I'm also convinced my wife doesn't age. Long game!!

Ewwww. TMI

While I get the defensive dad attitude to a degree, is there a reason to be an outright dick to another person and assume they have some abusive or rapey tendencies?

At times it can be odd how we treat men in society. It's like young men are guilty until proven innocent.

Then again sometimes I think I'm just ignorant to domestic abuse and such. I never ever grew up around it, men in our family are just...decent folks. Everyone I grew up around just respected women out of a normal sense of decency and basic human ethics. That said, maybe I'm just missing other communities' experiences with it being widespread. And I'm open to that ignorance.

Was at that game. Before the game, bammers at the bars were all crowing about a huge beat down. I knew the kick was unlikely, but I was so glad we were in a spot to win it and was looking forward to the glorious walk/strut back to the car when we won. Cody happens and the walk back was not enjoyable.

Yes, because STDs are worse than teen pregnancy, abortions, unwanted pregnancies, mass single mothers, etc.

And outside of HIV/AIDS, which are even quite manageable these days, I'm not sure there are serious medical issues caused by STDs beyond aesthetics.

I was only speaking about TrippieRedd and his attitude. I have not once stated I would threaten another person. I said I don't like that my daughter is hanging out with a dude. I don't like it. I know what that dude is thinking. That makes me protective.
