The talk was about doing enough to catapult recruiting like Barnes had. I meant the example of winning the East as something akin to what Barnes had done/what would be needed to turn recruiting in a major way.Who said we would win the division? But we can and will do better. We can win 10 games with the type of roster we’ll bring in with a competent coaching staff. Freaking Ky won 10 games two years ago. And Bama and Ga won’t always be what they are either. Anyone thinking they will be is extremely naive and knows nothing of history
Not to be that guy, but I mean realistically what we need to do above all else is deliver the bag like the last 4 coaches and everyone in the SEC is doing, and our ability to due that is probably being inhibited pretty badly at the moment. The talk was about doing enough to catapult recruiting like Barnes had. 7-5, 8-4 are unlikely to turn recruiting around in a big way, unfortunately. Especially if it's in Y3/Y4, while the "new coach recruiting bump" dissipates. These days, more than ever, you need a big splash to wow recruits on the field. We either need to win the division or get some major upsets on big stages.
Have them put chili and bacon on your burger next time, so good.Well, I finally went to Pal's and I got the Big Pal with cheese and Frenchie fries. Pretty good, big piece of meat (I know, twss) and the fries may be the best fast food fries ever. Of course, I'm stoned and starting drinking at noon, so that may or may not cloud my judgement
As long as universities are the association members, what will change? Is the SEC office really any better than the NCAA? It's all just universities at the end of the day.LOL you can't imagine a scenario where the big 5 have their own set of rules? You think the only possible way to have rules is with the ncaa?
The whole point of breaking away is to set up newer, better rules and actually enforce them. Why would you think breaking away would involve getting rid of all rules?
Those guys also have a lower ceilingU said no bluebloods wanted our 5 stars, but I do agree a little bit with how hard Barnes works and rides his players during the season, sometimes backfires. But, if u have the right players they will also thrive in that environment. Grant, Admiral, Kyle and Bone proved that.
It's really simple. Recruits are waiting to see how we play. If they commit now, and we lose games we should win, they will decommit. If we win what we should with an offense that scores a lot, we can flip some, get some that emerge during the year, and get transfers. We won’t start recruiting next level in football until we start winning. We don’t play any games in June so might as well learn how to wait and be patient.
TrueWhy is this so hard to understand? Barnes recruited Admiral and Grant, two players no one else wanted. He won with them and put them in the league. And now we have multiple 5 stars coming to play here. If you think that can’t happen in football, your BVS is at an all time level and tbh, I wonder what you’re doing in the recruiting forum

Bit of a reach there. You mean to tell me that you wouldn’t prefer a team of high character players who win to a team of drug dealers that win? I’m a big fan of having excellent ambassadors that my kid can look up to. I’ll take the Josh Dobbs, Tim Tebows, and Peyton Mannings and you can go root for the Aaron Hernandezes of the world.Cool. Fans like you all are why UT can fill 100k seat stadiums and not give 2 F's about winning. Enjoy trying to be Stanford of the South and losing to UK.
