How long are they expecting to be under AA penalties? 2-3 years? They think it takes time to win. They think it's going to take patience and commitment to recruit the kind of SAs UT wants, develop them to their full potential and build the culture and experience to compete for championships. That's what they stress to boosters/donors and what admin seems committed to doing. UT is under active investigation and in "best foot forward" mode.
We're talking about talent. I know you're trying to be the new Catbone... but KY never recruits in the top 30 and Mizzou is worse than that. We are way more talented than them and that will not change. What we've lacked is development. And in no universe will KY ever be better than us. Beating us because JG gave them the ball 3 times does not make them better than us. They've beaten us 3 times in 35 years. They are not better than us but you're free to continue in your delusionidk what universe you think we're 3rd in the east in. We're better than USCe by a hair, and Vanderbilt.
Just want to make sure I have all this straight.
Checkerboards hates Barnes.
Upstate and Voltaire hate Fulmer.
Invol hates Coach Harper.
Bruin hates Vitello.
Hillbilly hates all football coaches except Chip Kelly.
We all hate Pruitt, Jones and Dooley.
Does anyone hate Karen Weekly?
I don't know the names of any of our other coaches, which is actually kinda sad. Does anyone hate any of them?
Thanks.
And 88 is just sitting here at an Applebee's with a margarita not phased because fk it, that's who.Just want to make sure I have all this straight.

Pretty much the current model. Harder to do in SEC fb-- and harder for fans to be patient when our rivals are so far ahead. Developing project recruits and building from the bottom isn't the fastest way to say "Hello, win column." The program is damaged. We'll see how much they can fix with what we have.
This is very true. We will always be, at worst, more talented than 8 teams we play. Depending on who we get as a west crossover, so Arkansas or one of the Mississippi schools for example, then we are more talented than at least 9 teams we play in the year. We should be winning at that clip. And then, when you're playing at or above your talent level, you land the right QB, you can win at a higher level. And TN has the potential to be as talented as any team in the country. We just haven't given them a reason to come here since Fulmer was fired. If we could begin winning the way that we should with competent coaching, we could bring in talent right now just below bama and Ga.I only expect us to win at, or above, our talent level. As long as that is what we are doing, and the trajectory is up, patience isn't a problem. The problem is that we've been performing well below our talent level, and the trajectory wasn't up. There will always be the vocal minority who think that if we aren't beating Bama we're failing, but Neyland will be full if we are beating the teams we should beat with the talent we have. There is zero reason that we can't win 8 to 9 with good coaching, evaluation, and development.
And honestly, this whole NIL thing should make it possible to (legally) compete with the teams that get us to 10+ wins. The Tennessee fan base is massive and will readily spend money if there is optimism that we have a coach who can coach footbaw and recognize asparagus.
F word for who?Think you're gonna need levels of hate for the three stooges.
Dooley: good soundbites; bad HC
Butch: don't shake hands without wet wipes at the ready
Pruitt: turn around and exit the room when he enters
And Karen without Ralph is like sugar-free peanut butter with no jelly.
Don't say the F word unless you want much commentary on his chicanery in accepting what was contractually due.
No, not at all. I just want to enjoy my team. It just seems inequitable to me that the players who are making the games happen and putting their bodies at risk, should not get anything other than a scholarship, which has way less value than the amount of revenue they are generating.Do you want it to be a greed driven free for all mess like pro sports?
Do you know what a scholarship is worth? That is a ****** fortune to me. It is invaluable to the "student-athletes" that are smart enough to take it seriously. No, not at all. The basketball model is the way to go. Barnes only landed 3 star nobodies. Then he won with them and put them in the league. Now the 5 stars are lining up to come here. Do the same with football
Two key assistant coaches for this rebuild are Garner and Elarbee. Football begins at line of scrimmage. Develop 3 stars and put them in league and then 4 & 5 stars will come.
Pruitt was stupid to neglect the line of scrimmage with subpar coaching
It should have been Patterson. He wanted it. Wasn’t good enough for Hambone. We should have focused on a coach that could do more with less for a long time now. From ‘08 until about ‘13, we could still recruit top 10 based purely on brand. Get a guy that could win, and it would have taken off like a rocket. Big reason why I wanted Petersen going back to ‘08.
And Mizzou and Kentucky…
This year they’re better than us is all I am saying. We're talking about talent. I know you're trying to be the new Catbone... but KY never recruits in the top 30 and Mizzou is worse than that.
