It was definitely “information dispensing”. Aired the dirty laundry to make us sound like SMU of fifty years ago to the public and parents. Aired enough that “the industry” understood TN administration was naive and they should stay away. Just because she should have fired Fulmer and Pruitt doesn’t make her handling anything close to good.
“Impermissible contact” and an advance text to a recruit! Show cause in terminology only. Not even inbred apples/oranges here, Rusty!Mullen was hit with a show-cause for recruiting violations. To agree with your one size doesn’t fit all however, not the first time Mullen was busted. MSU admitted paying Leo Lewis while Mullen was there and Mullen/MSU admitted they offered Cam 180k. Mullen is the only coach in the SEC who has admitted to cheating. Ed O might have confessed, no one can be sure...
Yep, if you’re going north on 75 from Knoxville or whatever. Follow 61 East into Norris, then Andersonville. You could be at sequoia in 15 mins or so from the interstate. I was good friends with a girl in my class in high school whose parents owned it. We used to get the hookup there. Good timesTurn right off the exit from 75?
110%I'm just gonna be honest, even though some people probably won't like the honesty. The only people I've seen actually defend Donde's handling of the situation are Tennessee fans. It seems all outsiders think it was a clusterfawk. And Tennessee fans are split with some being pro-Donde and some being anti-Donde. I tend to lean more anti-Donde, I guess, because I just don't think it's been handled well. From the press conference to it still going on, effecting our recruiting IMO, I think it could have been handled better. We NEED to wrap it up, and it doesn't sound like we're even close. And the longer it's drawn out, the harder it is for our current staff to defend against negative recruiting. I'm sorry, but I question whether Donde gives a damn about Tennessee football at all? I get she's running UTK, not just football, but fans want to know that it matters to her. I just haven't gotten the impression it does, and that bothers me.
but like I said before, we all have our opinions. This is just mine. I'm tired of administrations running this football program into the ground. 15 years is long enough. I want everyone on the Hill to give a damn and fix this mess already.
Maybe Tennessee fans understand what our AD has been like in our Decade of Dysfunction. Yes, the whole situation is unbelievably stupid in the extreme. Some want to blame the one person in the spotlight and believe it was possible to sweep it all under the rug like other places do. Everyone would have to have been working together to make that happen.I'm just gonna be honest, even though some people probably won't like the honesty. Link said “outsiders”. Like a name. Not ALL…one. The reason we’re such a ****** up fanbase is we’ve become trigger happy at the drop of a hat. Fulmer cared in spades…how’d that work out? Some see what they want to see and there’s no end in sight until we let the professionals handle the business. Other schools have always negatively recruited against us and we return the favor. It’s past sad now that some of our so called fans join in.I'm just gonna be honest, even though some people probably won't like the honesty. I respect your opinion, but I believe it could have been handled better. We all can agree our AD and our administration has been dysfunctional for the last 15 years. Not all Tennessee fans see Donde in the same light. Pruitt and Fulmer are responsible for there being something to investigate, IMO, and I'm in no way absolving them of that culpability. But I don't think Donde needed to go scorched earth. Fulmer had to go, Pruitt and his staff had to go, but I don't believe we had to air all of our dirty laundry like we did, or in the fashion that we did. I'm not saying we should have "swept it under the rug", but more tact could have definitely been used. A sense of urgency to complete the investigation would be really nice, but we haven't even said that. Even just a touch of defiance against the NCAA would have been nice seeing as schools who have done far worse have gotten off with slaps on the wrist. I want someone willing to stand up for my university. I'm sorry, but I've not yet seen that from Donde. We are currently a program in ruins, and that hurts me. There needs to be more urgency to fix this and I'm just not seeing it, and frankly, it pisses me off. And that's MY opinion. I'm not asking you to agree with it. We're allowed to have different opinions and still support the same team.Maybe Tennessee fans understand what our AD has been like in our Decade of Dysfunction. I think Donde botched it. At the time, the possibility of it being wrapped up immediately and settled had appeal. But as we loop into the further damage it's done outside of the initial thought made it worthless to do for $12m. Didn't result in a top tier, established coach, still hurting recruiting, hurt the roster, etc.I'm just gonna be honest, even though some people probably won't like the honesty. I want our program to be like Oklahoma, Alabama, Ohio state, Clemson, Georgia, or any other of the top schools….. I think would they have done this to their program…. IMO, no….Then we probably shouldn’t have approached it this way…. We, basically, put ourselves on probation for the length of our internal investigation as well as the wait till the ncaa finally decides to act.I think Donde botched it. So much of recruiting, which IS rebuilding, is perception. Right now the perception HAS to be train wreck. Listen, good on them but when Kentucky and Vandy show more stability internally things are ****ed.I want our program to be like Oklahoma, Alabama, Ohio state, Clemson, Georgia, or any other of the top schools….. I agree but time to move forward…. I have a lot of confidence in DW to change the perception of the program. So much of recruiting, which IS rebuilding, is perception.
