Had one of those before. It had that App St "sinking feeling" dread to it...like we waited all offseason and this is nowhere close to the team we were expecting/"here we go again" feeling.

I'm sure Ga St only strengthened those dreams.

Here's a weird and sad statistic.

From 2009-2019 we beat each of our "guaranteed 3 wins" teams by more than 11 points only 3 times. I'm talking our FCS opponent + 2 G5/lowest opponents. In 2011, the closest game was 24 over MTSU, 2014 15 over Arky St , 2015 24 over North Texas.

The other 8 years:
2009 - 11 pt win over Ohio
2010 - 3 pt win over UAB
2012 - 7 pt win over Troy
2013 - 7 pt win over South Alabama
2016 - OT win over App St
2017 - 4 pt win over UMass
2018 - 11 pt win over Charlotte
2019 - Loss vs Ga St

To say the least, a couple of those could have gone the other way.

I at least have faith Hype won't let scrubs stick close by. For some context, during his 2 yr stint at Mizzou playing lower level opponents, he averaged 63 ppg in those 6 games...with mostly low 3 star talent outside of QB. Bowling Green, South Alabama, and TN Tech gonna get smashed. No sweating.

I don't. Kid knows he probably won't see the field again, yet he's still giving his all for Tennessee. Unlike the wusses who did bail on us, such as Toot and those who went to Oklahoma. Also, he's kept his nose clean, unlike a certain freshman QB the coaches released from the team.
