We may very well explode...in 3-5 years...

Sucks, but this period of football, while baseball and basketball are killing it, will take a lot of patience. Especially with all these transfers/lost annual spots we are eating up. It'll take a while to stabilize and rebuild the roster to a full 85 consistently. He may not even get a mostly-HS recruiting class till 2023...then there's time to develop, build up classes of redshirts, etc.

But I'm ready to give him 5-7 years to get us moving in the right direction long-term. In reality...just don't sound like a total jackass like the last 2 coaches and pay kids in freakin happy meal bags. All he has to do is merely make bowl games in the meantime and the fanbase will give em time I suspect.

I certainly think Gray is better than many of our fans now give him credit for, and I'd agree that many of those same fans sang a different tune a year ago at this time. But it is what it is. People are fickle, and understandably so, especially in relation to the constant nutkicks our fans take on behalf of this football program.

He was the best runner we had since Herd. That does not mean our offense was at its best when he was in the game.
