He was in no man’s land after the second pick 6 against Kentucky and there was a glaring distance between himself and any identifiable human after he went rogue against Bama the previous season. Guilt by association?

Just to clarify, I was referring to what they said before the season. So I am skeptical of players deciding who should be the starting QB.

Johnson and Bennett were kicked off the team almost midway through the season. There is such a thing as stretching out a narrative. And Bryce Thompson? He declared for the draft! When did they start counting those?

I mean our defense especially in the front 7 did lose a lot, transfer, graduation, or through draft they still aren't here now. So I can understand why outsiders aren't expecting us to be a stout defense coming into this season.

I personally think better staff will help us offset those loses, but I'm more wait and see than anything on defense at this point. We got some great coaches, but also all new faces with not near as much chemistry as the offensive staff plus losing what we've lost there will be a lot of new names heard on that side of the ball.
