I am glad Andy Staples is going after Mizzou, too. I have had some Mizzou fans coming into my mentions talking about their 2014 and 2015 SEC East Championships. Lot of good that did them.

Why would Georgia be afraid of GA Tech? UF being scared of FSU or especially SCar being scared of Clemson (though Clemson leaving a conference they dominate makes no sense), I get, but GA Tech?

I understand the reason the SEC has expanded its geographical footprint is all about money markets, but I'm more of a traditionalist that would prefer teams that make geographic sense. We still call ourselves the Southeastern Conference, but that name has been a misnomer since at least the addition TAMU and Mizzou.

Just makes no sense really. Unless you only understand money, that is. Let’s go ahead and add Ohio State, Clemson, and Oregon while we’re at it. Makes even less sense with the playoff expanding to 12 games. Oh, unless of course all you understand is ****ing money. Winner of the SEC gets automatic bye to the National Championship game?

Financially is the only way it makes sense. Everyone has a harder road to the playoffs now, but schools will get at least 10 mil more per year from the conference I think, maybe a lot more than that. And it gives the SEC a lot of political power over the NCAA.

Thamel’s full article here:

Gross.

None of these former Big8/SWC schools belong in the SEC (I’m even back on the fence about Arkansas now).

Nothing against them, but Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma just aren’t southeastern states. It just feels so artificial.

This article says it’s been in the works for a while and is expected to add $10 million per school in the renegotiated TV deal.

So its not as fast as it seems. Looks like they been working on this for a while. They are starting to leak this out cause it probably its pretty much a done deal.

Yeah Texas would have to assimilate, or die... Or something less drastic... Lol

But, they wouldn't be able to do whatever they want in this league.
Easier and easier every year since their last NC. They overrated their own importance in the grand scheme. Folding the Longhorn Network into the SEC Network allows a graceful exit as well as $ for all parties involved. ESPN would have to be ecstatic.
