Yeah, because Walter Nolen would say to Heupel to tell him his commitment status, “wow, you won 11 games last year? Pretty impressive. Wait a second though, remember that time you went from the SEC to the ACC? Yea, I’m not coming here. Screw y’all.”
How many teams in his final five are in the ACC? I'll give you a hint. It's less than one.

I’ve got an idea guys. Hear me out. One mega conference:

Southeastern Division: Tennessee, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, Mississippi State, Arkansas

Atlantic Coast Division: Clemson, FSU, Miami, West. Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Boston College

MidWest Division: Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan St, Rutgers, Purdue, Penn St, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Maryland, Iowa, Illinois

Pacific Division: Oregon, California, USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon St, Washington St, Arizona, Arizona St, Stanford, Colorado, Utah

MidAmerica Division: Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa St, Kansas St, Missouri, TCU, Texas Tech, Baylor

I think that could work.

We could call it…the National…Collegiate Athletic…Association. The NCAA for short. Those would be 5 powerful divisions

Got a mead place right behind us, beside Green Man. Not sure if I should try it or not. Sounds like something a monk would drink...not that there's anything wrong with that.

Not sure about mead but Belgium monks produce some of the best beers in the world. Tripels and Quadrupels will also get you seriously trashed.

Maybe we could even call it the NCAA and give the divisions wild names like Pac and Big and SEC 😁

Edit: Volnatic'd

Personally, I think it's hilarious that they thought a "gentleman's agreement" would stand in the way of money. Get that shiz in writing. What are they gonna do? Leave? And give up all the money the SEC rakes in?

Money talks for sure. Way more valuable than a gentleman’s agreement in the grand scheme. Every school is about to be much richer.

I've had some doubels and tripels...but quadrupels?!? Good god that has to be 15%+.

Tripels are my favorite style of beer. I've had a couple of quadrupels at The Yard House in Dallas. I'm used to seeing at best one Tripel on the menu even for places with a large beer selection. They had like 5 Tripels and 2 Quadrupels to choose from and they both had around 14-15% alcohol. They told me it took them several months to get the the state board to approve them to sell it :)

So basically creating more levels of competition by putting weaker schools in another level of D1, D2, D3, D4, etc. Then rearranging the conferences for an NFL type season and playoff.

I was curious what our scholarship numbers looked like this year compared to our SEC opponents this year. I figured we would be way behind most other schools. I didn't count special teams, but most teams carry 2-3 scholarship guys so it evens out. I also listed the number of blue chip (247 composite) players for each team. I also counted the super seniors even though they don't count against the 85.
UT - 79 | 29
BAMA - 88 | 77
UGA - 85 | 66
UF - 89 | 52
UK - 86 | 20
OM - 96 | 20
SCAR - 88 | 21
MIZZ - 80 | 10
VU - 80| 4

Lane obviously had a lot of super seniors compared to everyone else. We are still pretty far behind on scholarships, but we didn't fall as much as I expected in blue chip recruits. Historically, we have been closer to UF than UK/SCAR.
