Curious as to what the point of that would be. Takes a lot of time and money to do all that (rule-making, enforcement, offering all the SA services) and they currently have someone to do it for free.

Do they want some drastically different rules than what they could have under the ncaa? Paying players? Surely they wouldn't give up money. Not sure what else they could want to do that they can't currently. Being a governing body sure isn't a money making endeavor that's for sure.
NCAA doesn't do it for free. Emmert's base salary is $2.7 million according to the Athletic. SI and USA Today report he made $2.9 million last year despite COVID. The member institutes finance the NCAA. Maybe some of those member institutes are getting tired of being disappointed by the return on their investment?

Actually, maybe this will help Huepel with the rebuild.

UT is going to be in marquee games every single Saturday. Just about every recruit in the country wants to get in and play for an SEC school now. They want to be in the new super conference playing on the big stage.

We might have added two top teams, but we also might have removed or at least lessened the recruiting pressure of the Clemsons, OSUs, Michigans, etc. They're still going to get their's, but the landscape change might help every SEC program by default.

Here is a map of the 50 United States:

(that's Hawai'i in the bottom left corner)

Now, let's just divide it into four equal quadrants...

And there we go. Anywhere in that lower right quadrant, the SOUTHEASTERN quadrant, qualifies without upsetting anyone's OCD.

Basically, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Hawai'i are out. Everyone else is welcome.

Go Vols!

Stole this post from the FF. I thought it was funny and laughed.

Here's his map.

OSU and Michigan would bring the most money. Take Penn St so B1G has an uneven number lol.

Then grab Clemson, FSU, Miami, VT, and UNC from the ACC.

24 teams and the B1G and ACC will struggle to survive. We'll crush them in every metric. The PAC and Big 12 will crumble to the G5. Then we'll own everything and win the game finally.

You have to take Duke if you want UNC. Tied at the hip.

Those Oklahoma games were fun. I don’t mind bringing them in. TX is the question mark. They going to have to leave that stuck up **** at the door
Just thinking about how Oklahoma may be his alma mater, but they also fired him. Revenge is a dish best served cold, lol.

Ok. So since we’ve been talking about GT, here’s a couple from there to start with.
Even on an ugly day this place is crazy beautiful
Went there last year. Most beautiful place I've ever been, so majestic. Check out delta lake for a beautiful and challenging mid distance hike. Was one of our favorites.

If we are going to blow up the whole order of college football anyway, let's just go ahead and blow it up lol:

Upland South:
Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Memphis, Kentucky, Louisville, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Virginia

Coastal South:
North Carolina, NC State, Duke, South Carolina, Clemson, Miami, Florida, Central Florida

Deep South:
Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU

Western South:
Texas, Texas A&M, Houston, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State

Surely we can win that division.

I agree.

IN a way, I can see this helping TN recruiting. This state is growing every day. The influx of talent is obvious. I foresee a time where all these kids in each state will want to play for the state school. I foresee state pride becoming more prevalent……similar to the way it used to be.

That first one is from Jenny Lake close to the boat dock isn't it? and I think the second is from Schwabachers(sp?)Landing.

I love that place.

Not sure what they're talking about, but I've now heard a couple different national commentators talk about how Texas is such a rogue program and has destroyed more than 1 past conference because of how they operate.

Anyone know the history there? Sounds interesting.
It is very interesting...I can't believe you have never heard much about that. They won't be able to do it anymore once they are in the SEC.

Texas not being the big boy/bully in their conference anymore is going to be an extremely tough pill for them to swallow based on how they've behaved in the Big 12.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we see Missouri jump (or pushed out the door) to the Big10, especially if a natural rival like Kansas makes the jump too.

That would give the SEC 5 spots to fill to make it 20.

Clemson
FSU
Virginia school
North Carolina school
Louisville???
Nobody is getting pushed out..they need cannon fodder.
