The Simone Biles discourse is everything that disgusts me about the Olympics. Few are angry because they live and breathe gymnastics, or are even a casual fan. Most are angry because she didn't deliver them some glory and a dose of American Exceptionalism. Yeah she quit. Who cares? Why does it matter? Her decision doesn't affect anyone but herself in that one moment, and literally in 2 weeks gymnastics will cease to exist in the American lexicon. Calm the frick down and tell me who's gonna be the QB FFS. That actually matters.

Now, what do we think of Pitt?

The word hero gets thrown around a lot in sports and it's a perversion of the true definition of heroism. Performing in gymnastics doesn't require valor or bravery. She was never in harm's way. What she did was great. But that's as far as I'm willing to go with my praise.

Sports heroes are different from real heroes….. imo

Extremely odd, but should be an easy win...though we have our got dang B...C? team out there.

Not sure if we can even match up with el tri again. Read they basically sent their near A team. But a win would be even sweeter 🤤

Starting all the young guys tonight too with Dike and Busio starting over Zardes and Roldan. Qatar is actually the leading scoring team in the Gold Cup.. we should still beat them on paper, but far from a guarantee with all of the young guns playing in their first semi-final.

Westbrook to LA. Good and bad there. Can't hit 3...but he sure can collapse the defense for others. Interesting to say the least. Been a pretty awful supporting cast there since the big 2 arrived. May hurt depth, but if all 3 stay healthy, that's tough to bet against.

They must have thought they were a lot bigger and popular than they were...even after those stunts. Overpriced the launch point? Whoever is the underwriting investment bank has to be...not too happy.

I did admire the...ballsy...IPO strategy going after main street and lessening the impact of hedge funds and such, but it looks like it didn't help anyone. Their negative PR was too much, nor did they get the institutional and hedge fund IPO scheme "pop". Guess you gotta play the slimy game to get that pop.

I’m not angry. Said my piece calmly and reasonably. If we reduced our comments to what really MATTERS, this would be a once a month bulletin board…if that. Pitt sucks! Hope they die!

I don’t understand the talk about hate or being angry at her….. it’s just opinions…. We talk more harshly about our own players around here then we ever did Biles.

Lot of people quit after what she faced (can’t think of another example 🤔) with her family and the pressure that was supposedly debilitating. I don’t need you to concur and didn’t request it. Reissue previous K.

Agreed. Have yet to see anyone use such language. She simply didn’t earn any extra credit.
