Been following and see both sides… but man… what a reach this is. Don’t even need to give the reasons

That’s fine and all, it’s a bad analogy. The childish arrogance of those trying to reduce the greatest American gymnast of all time to a “quitter” has caused me to make some bad arguments. But it’s going to be over their heads regardless, so I’ve stopped trying.

Beer pong and cornhole imo...maybe flip cup. Just keep pushing in more american activities. One day we can have competitive lawn mowing and mallwalking.
If curling qualifies to be an olympic sport then cornhole has a chance.

I still want cornhole to be a D1 NCAA sport. The SEC would run the table.

People quickly forget her 2016 Olympics.

I was with them when I thought she was going to do the individuals. That would have been a horrible look. But when she dropped individuals too, there's clearly more to it than just "quitting"

China has now tied our overall medal count, and they have 5 more gold medals.

That sux.
Does it really matter though? I still suspect T&F will pull us well ahead, but if not...ok. As most have said on here, it's just the olympics. I'd take Silver for the next 5 games if it just meant a single SEC championship or even a world cup dub.

If you buy that load of crap..
What's your medical degree in that you know it to be a "load of crap"? Lots of actual gymnasts have come out in her support and confirm "twisties" are real. So should we believe people who actually know what they're talking about on the subject, or you? Do you have a secret gymnastics past you're hiding from us?

Yes, it matters.

Check Butch Jones year one roster and you find a similar dynamic. We convinced ourselves then we had a sneaky good roster, then we watched UT fall behind 59-7 late in the 3rd against Oregon in one of the most humiliating prime time defeats I can recall.

I’m not saying there is no talent this year, just less than the stars would indicate - especially relative to the SEC. good enough for 6 wins though I think!
That team was notoriously slow…and it played out on the field. You basically had two walk-ons playing big minutes at safety in Devaun Swafford and Max Arnold. Lawson had them remarkably conditioned but the lack of foot speed glared against teams like Oregon and Bama. When your PUNTER clocks your fastest time on Pro Day? Worlds different from this roster.

Butch’s first roster had a good OL.

Bailey at QB is better than Worley. I guess we don’t know what we have at RB, but it’s probably just as good as Neil and Lane. Marquez North, a freshman, was our best WR. Pig was solid, but Croom, Dallas, and Blanc were behind that. Hyatt, Jones, Payton, Tillman, Calloway, Keyton, and Holiday are and more talented.

Butch’s DL had some decent talent with McCullers, Smith, Walls, and Miller, but this year’s team is on par. LB’s were nothing after AJ Johnson because I think Maggitt got hurt. Even with our poor LB depth, it’s not worse. Secondary was Coleman, Sutton (as a freshman), Randolph, McNeil, Toney...Eric Gordon got kicked off. Slow, slow.

I just think this roster has talent than can be developed. Certainly not any worse than that one.

Yes, a tweaked groin is absolutely comparable to possibly breaking your neck by landing on your head. Totally the same.
I said I wouldn’t talk about this even though I am on the side that she deserves criticism for this moment…. Your comment made me think though….. how do those people that do the long ski jumps get good at that without dying….. that always amazes me.
