don't forget Ricky White at MSU and another kid that went to FAU.. embarrassment of riches for a high school offense

Exactly, and I'm not holding it against Bailey. I'm sure he helped them as much as they helped him, but when someone is throwing the ball around the yard (especially in HS) to that kind of talent it takes the edge off how impressive the stats are.

What has Bailey done in college though?

The point is while in HS he had stud talent around him, regardless of what they've done in college they were studs in HS. Just something to take into account when looking at his numbers from then. Fromm (also on that list) played with far less talent, you can watch QB1 and see how much bigger he was than his teammates.

Marietta had some good competition during their 6A Championship

I can't stand these stories lol.

Good for Trey obviously... But it makes us look soo bad that this happens so much. "Woah. Look at this guy. How on Earth did he fall so far in the draft? What was going on in college!?!"

Just once I want a JaMarcus Russell to come out of here. Just some tremendous bust our coaches were able to hide from NFL scouts with scheme.
Trey falling had more to do with his blood clot issues than anything he did at UT. Sure, he received bad coaching (I recall saying Friend was a horrible OL coach and I wasn't the only one), but it wasn't really his play that hurt him as much as health concerns.

He's played one season with an inept offensive minded coach in a covid year while he was deprived of a spring camp.

Fromm played for a smaller school. Went 7-3 as a senior with two D1 recievers. Didn't win state. Bailey did while playing a national schedule. Hardly comparable.

That's my point though. Fromm played for a smaller school with less D1 talent so his HS numbers stand out more than Bailey's.

Also Bailey only had the one winning season while in HS and that year he had 2 D1 WRs (White to MSU, Johnson to Boston College), 1 D1 TE (Gilbert to LSU), and 1 D1 RB (Vidal to Troy) to spread the rock to.

Why are we still giving mental bandwidth to what HT did or does in the future? Just doesn't make sense to me. If I were to be bitter about any of the guys that left it would be Gray and Lawrence because they're TN kids.

Beyond, "I hope we toast him on some slants, Beckwith runs through him, and Evans breaks his ankles when we play Bama," I just don't care if he has a good/bad season or where/if he gets drafted. He's gone, and right now living rent-free in a bunch of heads.
Saw “HT”, didn’t read

Me personally I'd like to see Hooker or Milton start this year, not because I don't think Bailey can do well here.

But I would love to get a RS year for Bailey so that when he takes over next year he's got 3-4 left to run the show. Cause Hooker only has one year left anyway, and Milton enters his 4th year in college. So he could be done after this year too, either leaving for the NFL draft (best case for us actually) or graduate transferring out.

I'm not a sucker, just a guy who's been knocked down by life enough to have empathy for others.
Well..I can say life has opened my eyes and made me infinitely more aware. I used to be a world class mark, but it ain't easy to get one over on me anymore.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..it's a f'n duck.

I’m right here too.
