He broke a nice run against minnesota where you can see he can really move well esp for a guy thats 245lbs. Also, its not real fair to analyze everything he did at Michigan. Harbaugh hasnt had a qb there yet who has played well bc that system really sucks. Plus we just need him to use his skillset a little bit and it will make defending this scheme super difficult.

Just want a QB that can drive us down the field and score. A QB that can go through his reads and throw to the open guy. Gun shy about QB play after the last four years. lol So if Joe is the guy so be it. I just want to see UT back on top soon!

Exactly. When you have to account for covering receivers on the perimeter and possibly a QB who sees an opening and decided to take it. Especially at that speed. It’s not hard to cover 20+ yds easy.

I mean HB ran for like 30 yds on Florida I believe because they blitzed everyone and gave him an opening…. Imagine if that was Joe Milton he is picking up way more yards.

Teams having to account for that and a guy who can literally put the ball where other QBs cannot all factor together. This creates openings that he can take advantage of and will take advantage of in my opinion.

Our offense is nothing like Michigan’s. Huepel creates space and mismatches which is why his Running backs always produce.

I wish VolNation had a bookmark feature like twitter, that way if Milton runs past everyone for a 40yd TD this season I could come back and bump this.

I am hoping Heupel caught lightning in a bottle and we got a Cam Newton/Vince Young competitor.

Been a while since I've been on here, but after watching the D-Line and hearing Coach Garner and the way he coaches. We got lucky. Strives for greatness every single day. Motivates, Teaches, and is never satisfied.

As for QB between Milton, Bailey, or Hooker, I think the best guy will play. Offensively, I think there are playmakers, good RB's, but the offensive line is a weakness at this point. I think the offense will struggle at first, but get better towards the season. I like the group of coaches on this team. Still, a lot of work to do and obviously losing so many guys in the portal hurts. But by the end of the season, the way this team is playing will tell a lot. Solidifying QB by at least the 4th game will help.

Hoping the oline gets coached up by game time i think they are doing some rotating in practice to find the best 5, but glad we are signing a full class of olineman this year and will prob hit the transfer portal next year for a OL.

We went from the offensive line being a strength to a huge weakness after one scrimmage.

What in your opinion is making the OL a weakness? Are they not in sync, or are the individual players not good?

Not much to report today besides several players sit out or didn’t practice much to try and save their bodies…. Milton started first as reported but all QBs had equal reps….. Milton has been inconsistent in drills which coaches are trying to correct…. He has looked much better in 11V11 and the scrimmage.
