I didn't wanna disparage him, but you nailed it...I always wondered what a truly great couple of RBs would have done behind those OL, but if you wanna know...all you got to do is look at what Auburn did with those couple of RBs.

I think a shoeheel tree is a cedar tree or your grandpa was messing with you. Shoe trees are usually made out of cedar, but it may be some forgotten old-timey slang.

Sevier County football jamboree.

1st quarter starts after about 1hr & 10-15mins.
1st qtr is Seymour vs G-P. That used to be one of the biggest rivalries in the state. A shame it's not been played in years. They play, for the 1st time in a while, this Thursday.

Could Heupel be the combo mix of what we liked about Butch and Pruitt?

We liked that Butch could recruit and his marketing ability. Some of the new age stuff that appealed to kids like the Smokey Grey. His downfall was he was never a successful play caller anywhere at least not at the big level. Yet he thought he was smarter than those that had.

We liked that Pruitt could recruit but more that he was actually able to coach X and Os and was a football guy. We didn’t like that he wasn’t very marketable, boring and was a Ahole.

Heupel brings the new age marketable personality to kids and knowing what they want. He played at highest of levels and has called plays offensively at highest levels. Now he has HC experience. His offense will work. It worked at Mizzu and we see what Kiffin/Lebby do with that Briles style offense in this league. Kendal had success at Arky too with it first yr there. While Heupel has his own mix on it we see the style can work in this league.

What we don’t know is his ability to find the guy to run the other side of the ball and special teams. How good will Tim Banks be as a play caller will determine Heupels success and if he isn’t what Heupel hopes how quick does he pick up on that and make the necessary move if he sees it may not work. I like the overall crew they put together on that side of the ball with so much experience that I would think we eventually have a solid defense if everyone works together well
