Over time all the hype sounds the same, and then looking back after the coach is fired there always the “there were issues from the beginning with last coach and the signs were there, but it’s all different now”. We are already in the “we are as talented as everyone except bama and Georgia” phase of camp and after getting excited and believing the hype all these years, I’ve decided to keep my original conservative outlook. Fully expect us to look like we are the team that lost a ton of starters to transfer, and that’s ok.

Oh yeah, every transfer was a locker room problem or cancer to the team etc etc (before this year but everyone knows why those players transferred). One thing I truly hated about Pruitt was the fact that he took the joy out of watching the Vols on Saturdays with my pops. Heupel was an underwhelming hire but I'm a huge fan again, I don't care if the team is bad, I want them to try to win every game. Running the ball down 21 in the 3rd and 4th quarter is not trying. A year later and I honestly have no idea what he was trying to accomplish by doing that every game. Heupel seems fun, Pruitt was a bore. Both styles are fine if you win but I'd rather lose w the fun coach instead of getting blobfish Pruitt on the mic after the game and it being painfully obvious he does not care about losses and would rather be in Alabama.

Linemen catching punts to get the team a night off. If chemistry and camaraderie win games, we're going 15-0. lol.

I feel like one of the big problems of the past 10 years worth of teams was that the players were more self-interested than team-interested and I think that's a problem Heup is working his butt off to fix. Will we be 12-0? Hell nah, but will this team be more fun to watch and have players that play for the guy next to them and the Power T on their helmet? I think so

AP said he fully expects starting QB to be announced this week. Expects it to be Milton.
Good news - somebody ended up running away with the competition. Exactly what I was hoping for, someone excelled enough to separate themselves. Otherwise, you're left wondering how bad the 2-3 guys in the QB room might be...after all, "if you have 2 quarterbacks, you have no quarterbacks".

"It’s 16 days Till it’s Football Time in Tennessee! # 16 Peyton Manning
Quarterback (1994-97)
Peyton Manning's legend will never die. Arguably the best quarterback in Tennessee history, he finished his illustrious career holding 42 NCAA, SEC and Tennessee records.
After being pressed into action as a freshman due to injuries to Jerry Colquitt and Todd Helton, Manning performed admirably as he led the Vols to an 8-4 record and a 45-23 victory over Virginia Tech in the Gator Bowl.
Manning would become a nationally-recognized star as a sophomore in 1995 after guiding the Big Orange to a near-perfect 11-1 record and finishing sixth in the Heisman balloting. The Vols would once again win their bowl game, defeating Ohio State 20-14 in the Citrus Bowl.
The 1996 season saw Manning and the Vols go 10-2, culminating in a 48-28 triumph over Northwestern in their second consecutive appearance in the Citrus Bowl. Although Manning had already finished his degree and was projected to be the top pick in the NFL Draft, he returned to Rocky Top for a fourth and final season.
With his sights set on a higher goal, Manning would help deliver the Vols their first SEC championship since 1990 as he paced them to an 11-2 record, including a 7-1 mark in league play for the third straight year.
That season, Maning captured the Maxwell Award as the nation's most outstanding player, the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and Player of the Year honors, securing his All-America status in 1997. He also won the Sullivan Award as the nation's top amateur athlete.
The Tennessee quarterback became the fourth in NCAA history to pass for 11,000 yards and threw for more than 300 yards in 18 games. He finished with 11,201 yards as Tennessee's most prolific offensive player in leading the Vols to the 1997 SEC Championship.
No other Vol has endured himself to the fans as has Peyton. His legend will continue to grow and he will be honored and remembered as the greatest VFL of all time."

Tebow should not have even tried out for TE. Maybe when he first went to the NFL he could have developed into one, but at 34 there was no way. Turned into a pathetic publicity stunt. Just stay retired and remain a TV personality.
No human lives were harmed in the making of this movie.

Okay, seriously--- this is great to see! Team chemistry is half the battle in games... guys wanting to give their all for one another during the game when they are tired/game isn't going their way... this team seems different based on what little info we can get, compared to teams the past 5yrs or so... Very optimistic that this team will not quit at any point and give 100% from whistle to whistle, which is all we ask for as fans.

I think we will have capable backups also. And, never fear, after the first bad pass, the hordes will be on here screaming for HB.
