Considering he may just play the first half

250 yards passing and rushing

Indicate control over the Offense by his body language, command of the field, etc.
Don't force things that are not there.
NEVER, EVER shoot an imaginary arrow from his fake quiver.

What would you consider a successful opener for Joe Milton?

Why? They can’t take the truck back if he sucks. They can just cut his deal.

No I think it's more fascinating in the senses of:

1.) I wonder how CJ Stroud, the current starting QB, feels about these deals and attention.
2.) Ewer has been given a ton of hype and the NIL has magnified that, what if he's the next big flop? Would be interesting and I'm sure some people will claim he spent too much time worrying about NIL deals instead of practicing which will be justification for some that this is bad for college sports.
3.) If he comes out and is the next Trevor Lawrence or Peyton Manning, he could be the most marketable person in college sports in 2 years, if he's already getting great perks now, what does it look like if he's returning his Junior Year after winning a Heisman or a National Championship as a sophomore. What's his marketing ceiling?
4.) They probably can't cut his deal. Most of these come from signed contracts and none of these deals can be performance related.

This is kinda where I’m at… this game could could be one of those where we hit a couple deep balls and a QBs yards go through the roof or it could be an instance where we just run the ball well and don’t have to necessarily have big numbers from a QB.

I think everyone might be surprised how little other QBs play. Heupel doesn't generally spread it out even in blowout games, if Milton is actually THE guy like I expect he is.

In 2016, Missouri beat Delaware St 79-0 and non Drew Lock QBs threw 3 total passes.
In 2017, Missouri beat Idaho 68-21. 1 non Drew Lock pass. Drew Lock threw a TD with 1:56 left in the 3rd Quarter to go up 65-14.
2020, UCF beat ECU 51-28 and nobody threw a pass but Dillon Gabriel.

The opener IMO can only hurt him if he looks bad. Pitt is the litmus. BG was so bad on rush defense they only “gave up” like 160 yards per game last year passing.

How in the world could you not be excited about seeing a totally new staff and an offense that scores points? I don’t understand rooting for one QB over the other in the off-season when two of them have never even played a game here and none in this offseason.. trust the ones who have their jobs on the line
