Plus Heupel is the Main QB coach on field anyway. I suspect he sees future potential as play caller in Hazel and wants him getting experience now in box

Disappointed our free agent was named the starter. Sucks for a loyal guy like HB but that’s college sports these days.

another hit to my already lowest excitement level for the opener since my childhood.
Why is it disappointing that he is playing the QB that he believes gives us the best chance to win?

I apologize to the rest of the board in advance.

Having went through several in Florida, I will never understand people that don't/won't get out when a major hurricane is bearing down. It is sad, but it is supremely vexing at the same time...I mean you have several days to get out..🤦‍♂️
I agree. I have lived in Florida off and on since 1998. Before they decided to open the south bound lanes on 95 for evacuation north, it was almost as dangerous to try and leave and getting stuck on the interstate for 20 hours to go 50 miles north.
But now they open up both sides for north-bound evacuation and it's pretty easy to get to Georgia and away from the brunt of the storm.

Really? If a team comes out in first game doing something they have never done, then how do you plan for that?
I just don't think I've ever heard a coach say something like that before. Was Illinois really running some defense so exotic that he never could have anticipated and was perfectly tailored to take away half of the plays Nebraska was planning to run? Didn't look all that crazy to me, but I'm not a big X's and O's guy.

Which is more likely, that the Illini DC is a devious genius? That he just got incredibly lucky? Or that Scott Frost is a coach with a worse record after three years than Derek Dooley, Jeremy Pruitt or Charlie Strong at Texas, and just isn't very good?

What would you consider a successful opener for Joe Milton?

Don’t really care about stats vs BG.

Let us see a guy who stands in the pocket, goes through reads, and makes good decisions and I’ll be happy. I don’t even care if he runs at all this week, keep him healthy. That’s success to me.

Excited to see his arm strength in a live game setting.

Dug into more stats and based on talent disparity, I think this game looks like Missouri vs Eastern Michigan in 2016 or Missouri vs Idaho in 2017.

My updated prediction is now in the 60ish to 20ish final score range.

I'll go 63-21.

Milton 375+ yards
5 TDs

Evans - 21 carries 175 yards 2 TDs
Small - 16 carries 130 yards 1 TD

Hyatt - 4 catches 115 yards 1 TD
Velus - 6 catches 95 yards 1 TD
Tillman - 4 catches 70 yards 2 TDs

That would be an amazing start.
