I really don't know the answers to all that, and I don't care about Frost either way....but I can see how preparing your team all summer for an important in-conference game against a team that plays a certain way, and then shows up doing something really different from what you have prepared your team for could really mess you up...but Frost probably just sucks...like I said, I don't care...I am glad we didn't hire him.I just don't think I've ever heard a coach say something like that before. Was Illinois really running some defense so exotic that he never could have anticipated and was perfectly tailored to take away half of the plays Nebraska was planning to run? Didn't look all that crazy to me, but I'm not a big X's and O's guy.
Which is more likely, that the Illini DC is a devious genius? That he just got incredibly lucky? Or that Scott Frost is a coach with a worse record after three years than Derek Dooley, Jeremy Pruitt or Charlie Strong at Texas, and just isn't very good?
Ya know another interesting tidbit from that day…. Willie Martinez was suspended that game for a recruiting violation, believe he bumped into a recruit around the Nashville area. Anyways, Jancek had him in the booth as his eyes. Without him there, Dino Babers and that Matt whatever guy lit us up. Thankfully Dobbs and AK were en fuego that day. Also, I got sunburned like a son of a gun. Like pure red.Which UT rb had his 1st 100yd game against BG?

What did you take the picture with?View attachment 390503Was in a hurry to get the grass cut before the rain hit (middle TN) phone fell out of my pocket and got destroyed. Moran
Michigan didn’t stretch the field with Milton as the starter — only 1 of his 141 passes went for 40-pus yards — which goes against everything Heupel is about. Whether that was because of Milton or because of the system is in the eye of the beholder.
The good news on Milton is that he’s getting an ideal way to start the season. He’ll face a Bowling Green defense that ranked No. 126 of 127 FBS teams in 2020. He’ll do so at home in front of a crowd that hasn’t seen a Tennessee quarterback throw for 350 yards at Neyland Stadium since Tyler Bray did against Mizzou in Nov. 2012. Think about that. Connor Bazelak hit 406 passing yards in his first start with Eli Drinkwitz’s system last year. Maybe Milton is in for some similar early success with Heupel.
That’s where I am. It was an afterthought for me when Nebraska hired him, but somewhere in my love of college football, I wanted him to succeed. Probably because I remember when Nebraska was dominant and even beat us.I really don't know the answers to all that, and I don't care about Frost either way....but I can see how preparing your team all summer for an important in-conference game against a team that plays a certain way, and then shows up doing something really different from what you have prepared your team for could really mess you up...but Frost probably just sucks...like I said, I don't care...I am glad we didn't hire him.
