I watched the VT vs Pitt game a couple weeks ago. I wasn’t impressed. Their defense plays pretty sound and aggressive, but they gave up some big plays. Offense was nothing scary at all like I thought the way they talked about their QB. I think we win by 10+.
They're QB is the definition of meaty okra. 13 td's to 9 ints the last two years in a row. Decent run game, aggressive defense. But they lost a bunch from that defense last year.

they lost to NC State (who lost to KY), Boston College, blown out by Miami, blown out by Notre Dame only scoring 3 points, and blown out by Clemson. Their best win was VT.

If our offense takes the jump we expect, I'm not sure this one's competitive.

I mean, come on, maybe we are delusional and they are not, but i refuse to believe it.
Host is a Florida grad, Mark Ryan. Also said (even after the grad transfer as QB1) that “USC can make a bowl because they have 3 guaranteed wins OOC, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are “easy wins” and then just beat someone theyre not supposed to”

Not at all. Shoot, it's probably going to be a ~coinflip game by Vegas and some outlets have them ranked ahead of us. Not a bad loss in any way. The team absolutely has to take them seriously.
People like the poster I was originally responding to are the ones that will make an already tough rebuilding job even harder.

We have to foster an atmosphere of confident, but understanding patience...anyone with any common sense realism should know where we are really at "right now"...the whole 8-10 win crowd is basing that on a ton of huge "IFs" being true or happening that haven't gone our way in 20 freakin years...

If we turn on Heupel quickly because of a set of unfounded expectations based on overly optimistic suppositions, then you can stick a fork in this program for good.

Losing to Pitt this year, depending on the way we lose of course..if we even lose..is not a indicator of our staffs ability to get on the right track for future success..it would be a speedbump and that is all.

Now if we get run off the field in these coinflip games with no valid reasons to point at like a rash of bad injuries to key personnel...then that may be an indicator that this staff is just not up to it.

I really hope they are up to it, and these coinflip "speedbump" matchups turn out to be "slingshots" instead.

Their D is good and the big question mark on Heupel's offense is how it falls apart against good defenses. Also game 2 so probably a few kinks to work out
He failed to score 30 points only three times in 3 years at UCF. One was the bowl game last year that they weren't even able to practice for. How does it fall apart against good defenses?

He scored 32 against LSU at UCF. He scored 33 against Cincy last year. GA only scored 24 against them.

I wonder what they will say when we beat FL and start 4-0. Silence will be deafening.

RF, my mom needs you prayers. She was hospitalized yesterday with COVID. On a vent. She got sick 2 days after getting her first vaccination. She is my hero for all she sacrificed in raising me as a single parent. I am headed back on E-leave tomorrow from SW Asia. I pray she can see, hug and kiss her grandchildren again. My girls are what she lives for. She hasn't seen them in almost 3 mo.
🙏

ESPN Upstate (SC) just did their SEC East Predictions

1. Georgia
2. Florida
3. Kentucky
4. Mizzou
5. USC
6. Tennessee
7. Vandy

I live in the Upstate like you. Gamecock fans and local media don’t think they’re going to be great, but almost all pencil in UT as a for sure win. It’s the same old stuff we’ve heard all offseason. “No talent, 40 transfers, etc.”. They have no clue about our incoming transfers or overall roster.

Yep, I can confirm

Injuries and QB play will be the difference between 5-7 and 8-4, IMO. It could easily fall either way, IMO.
Bingo..man we are due some good fortune though, but it is just so hard to believe that it will after the last 15-20 years...we have just had so many freakishly bad bounces on top of bad everything controllable.

For instance Florida has made a ton of really bad decisions too, yet pure freaky good luck has glossed that fact over in a bunch of seasons, and they are not the only ones.

Approximately 100k people lol.

And there are old people there too. They're just the fun and cool old people, not curmedgeons like all the old farts in skillets we have here 😉
I'm an introvert, homebody, and last great song I heard was Trey Hensley & Rob Ickes. Just heard it last week, check my stats.

Was so excited to hear new music. Then I saw it's been out for 10 years. Oh, and get off my lawn.
