Does bonaroo cancellation lead to increase md attendance for TN game? I would assume some people would still look for something to do
Yes, but impossible to tell. 100k go to Roo, but from all over. I could see maybe 5k going to the game, on the high end. But any bit helps.

Their D is good and the big question mark on Heupel's offense is how it falls apart against good defenses. Also game 2 so probably a few kinks to work out
It falls apart?

At Mizzou, after having the worst offense in all of the 2010s in the entire SEC...he pushed them to 11th Y1 and 3rd Y2 (this is SEC opponents only to take the scrubs out). Remember as well, Mizzou's talent is only better than Vandy's...and not by much.

At UCF they were 2nd, 3rd, and 1st in AAC games.

Now of course nearly all teams (except the absurdly most talented ones) struggle (relatively) vs the best defenses. That's just the game. But looking at stats when the scrubs are removed shows he's done quite well. Though I do agree there will be kinks to work out in game 2, especially in Y1.

When was the last time we lived up to or surpassed expectations? 2015?
I think about this every year...such as when's the last time we beat the Vegas prediction by more than 1.0 game.

In 2015 8-4 was the common prediction, so I wouldn't say that year. To be honest, I have no idea except it had to be Fulmer or Majors years. Post-Fulmer I'm certain we haven't.

Lol. Ok. I’m glad you honestly believe that we had a QB competition. We didn’t. It was Milton day one. And Bailey could lead us to wins, you have no idea. I do know many high school coaches around Atlanta who think he is a star and shows up when he is needed. We shall see what happens as the year goes on. But to write him off is dumb because you think Milton will be a star when he wasn’t even good in the Big ten. Let’s all pray he just needed coaching and a new system and becomes a star.

You are the only one spewing this crap. Heupel’s hardly been here any time, we aren’t in the baseless rumor stages yet. If Harrison Bailey gave us a better chance at winning I have to assume he would be starting. If you are receiving info, I would consider the source and their agenda. They sound like sour grapes over Bailey being 3rd string. Of course Bailey could lead us to wins and no one knows which QB is actually our best option, but I’ll assume Heupel is qualified to decide until he proves otherwise. His 2 predecessors got the benefit of the doubt way too long so I don’t think people will give heup that benefit. I did not do any of the last part of your post. I hope he is great when he gets his shot, hopefully it’s here but no one is seeing this accurate passer you are describing. I am far from believing Milton is some sort of star either, his numbers are troubling.

My thoughts on QB.

Im pulling for all 3. I like all 3 for their own things. I have questions about all 3.

Milton - easily wins job despite 15 less practices than the others. If you forget about HS rankings and look at the 3 side by side throwing the ball.. who looks like the 5 star NFL talent? Milton without question the release, the strength, the size, the ability to move in the pocket. He Carries himself like a pro. He had the hype at Michigan and started well until the thumb injury. Milton is the guy with best chance to go pro first if he has success. Sooner you get a guy with a big year and drafted the easier recruiting QBs yearly happens. Trust me if he gets Milton to his potential ceiling then QBs will start lining up. The questions are will he be accurate and consistent and how much of the problem was the thumb, harbaugh conflicted with what system to run and what was Milton himself.

Hooker - I liked watching him at Va Tech. Love his ability to run with ball and also can make some good throws at times. I wouldn’t be surprised if we have red zone package for him this year. Doubt see it until Pitt. Doesn’t stretch field vertically with his arm. Struggles with cold conditions due to some health thing he had going on at va tech so you have to be concerned of how he would do late in year.

Bailey- cool and calm sometimes to a fault. Can apply touch and throws catchable ball. Better mobility than people give him credit for. My issues are he never has looked like a guy since being here that you go yeah that is why he was a five star. Looks more like a solid 4 imo. Doesn’t do anything that wows you just gets the ball to the playmakers. Heavy footed and a slow release. Needs to just let it rip sometimes. Really a guy that would be smart to go the Mac Jones route. Work hard and improve and strike with avengance when his number is called. Let his mind become his strength by throwing people open and being able to read defenses instantly. Continue working on his body. He got too big in Hs to protect himself from the hits. He is making progress yearly. Covid year really hurt him but body wise I see him getting in better shape. Work in getting quicker feet and getting the ball out decisively. Still believe he can be starter here even next yr.

RF, my mom needs you prayers. She was hospitalized yesterday with COVID. On a vent. She got sick 2 days after getting her first vaccination. She is my hero for all she sacrificed in raising me as a single parent. I am headed back on E-leave tomorrow from SW Asia. I pray she can see, hug and kiss her grandchildren again. My girls are what she lives for. She hasn't seen them in almost 3 mo.
Prayers, hoping for the best

Butch crapped the bed with a 17-0 lead in our chance to surpass expectations. He kicked a 17 yard field goal with a 6-3 battering ram RB.
We talking about Oklahoma? I don’t know if the 4th and 14 against UF or Baker Mayfield spinning out of like three straight sacks that could have ended the game are more heartbreaking.

There is a lot to criticize Butch for, but that game was mixed with player mistakes too. If any of these don’t happen, we probably win: Ellis dropped pass wide open, Hurd fumbled the ball 10 yards behind LOS on first down in OU territory after an INT, Medley missed FG, no pass interference (probably more officiating). I believe Curt Maggitt also got hurt in the first half and would have helped getting to Mayfield.

The world is broken when Washington and North Carolina are more talented than FSU and Tennessee.
And USCjr only 3 spots behind us...just 1 year after we were merely a solid 2021 class away from finally rejoining the Blue Chip Ratio club and instead ended up going from 36 bluechips to just 29 oof. We're cursed. And EFF Pruit...again!
