DeBord was a very solid OC. Most people incapable of getting passed the "Olympic intramural coach" stigma.

He, like Butch, was bailed out by Dobbs's improvised scrambling abilities on 3rd down. Some of the games he called in the 2016 season (App St, first half against Florida, South Carolina) were awful and they rolled up a bunch of yards/points against dogs**t defenses late in the season.

DeBord only looks like a genius now because of the offenses we've had under Pruitt.

2015 was one of the most prolific rushing seasons in our history and against good teams. Almost 3,000 yards. Certainly, there were games where we struggled (as with every team), and I think you can probably blame some of Butch's philosophies on that. To be fair, I think Dobbs can also take some blame as a passer in a game or two. He was 12-26 with 2 INT's and a fumble against USC in 2016. We turned the ball over 7 times against A&M that year.
