Sheesh! Talking about hitting the trail.
To be completely fair, isn't that just par for CFB?

I get the report of guys out recruiting far and wide looks good...but is there really a P5 program where, "Coach Johnny is spending the week at home with his kids, Coach James went hunting till Spring"...

All to say - recruiting 24/7 these days is just enough to keep your head above water. But it's not a leg-up or competitive advantage on anyone either. Not these days. Just like huge analyst staffs (the Saban way) used to be a big competitive advantage...now it's becoming the norm. I'm curious where the new/next competitive advantages lie. I'd guess somewhere in NiL realm...maybe NFTs...player branding...VR simulators...something that is either new or yet to be thought of.

hoping all this noise means we are getting an elite RB/QB/WR/DT/OL/DB.... don't want to be greedy, but UT is definitely due for some positive momentum after what we've been through the past 12+ years... LAWT.

Yep. We put a product on the field that people want to be a part of...this will bring more talent and more future success. A cycle of success vs. decline.

Brother, I’m just a VFL that knows some folks from my years within the confines of Football.

But to answer some of yalls questions…

YES it’s great to be a Vol rite now.
NO JH isn’t going anywhere.
YES we have commits, a couple are waiting for certain dates to pop.
YES, in my option we will finish Top 15 recruiting.
YES I think Hooker and Tillman come back

I’ve always tried to bring some crumbs of info to the board but some stuff you just can’t divulge, either due to not wanting to ruin a kids moment or just people flat out telling me not to say a word.

And then some posters are just rude and I don’t wanna get into words with people on a message board and that’s why I disappear sometimes.

But I’m always around and I’ll always BLEED ORANGE.

Imagine getting a quality education of $100k paid for and then making thousands of dollars for doing nothing but playing a game. The NILs will will do nothing but hurt CF imo.
Lmao. Now imagine being a "coach of amateurs" and making $10mm a year...

Look at it in a "free market" scenario:

A 53 man NFL roster averages about $200mm/yr.

Their coaches average 6-7...let's call it 6.5mm.

So, a 53 man roster is valued at 30x their coach...in what is close to a free market (not perfectly so).

Now, in college, the average coach makes $2.8mm (and nearly double that, in say, the SEC).

Then you have 85 players that make their $100k or whatever of mostly non-cash compensation...so $8.5mm total.

Hmm. So a team of 85 are worth about 3x their HC in a completely artificial market (and in P5 leagues about 2x)...But yet 30x in a nearly-free market...

Hmm this should be a red flag as to equity and who is producing the value and who is receiving it.

You typically don’t have all of it occurring simultaneously though. Not where the staff is literally all over the country at the same time.

Eh… not apples to apples at all.

The average NFL player is much better at his job than the average college player. The same is not true of coaches (different skill sets, and maybe you could say overall NFL coaches are a little better at their jobs, but nothing like the disparity among players).

Also, demands on NFL players are greater than demands on college players, while demands on college coaches (specifically, recruiting, but also more generally managing a program and a roster of 100+ college kids and making sure they go to class, stay out of trouble, etc.) are greater than demands on NFL coaches.

ESPN Upstate guy said he wants Tennessee vs Penn St bowl game because “he wants them to put Tennessee back in their place and shut them up talking about how they’re back. Penn St would knock them back 10 years.”

Someone texted in saying they wanted a UT vs Clemson bowl game, he said
“yawn. Clemson would win huge. 42-20 or something similar. It wouldn’t be close. I’ll spare you the trouble of wondering.”
yes just like they said the wvu/clemson orange bowl that clemson favored by a bunch would stomp their —-and wvu put 70 on them. Need to be careful with the —— talking come sometimes you have to eat some. Ask Kevin Steele who was DC at the time how it tasted.Let Clemson know we are not USCe and hell Penn state lost to Illinois in what 9 OT and scored 1 2 pt conversion in 7 tries. Franklin get a grip brotha.

He definitely needs someone to do it. . . the gamecocks sure can't.
