I still don’t think some of our fans understand that if we just kept even a solid but unspectacular coach for 6 or 7 years, a full roster of D-1 scholarship athletes can make some noise.

We prefer cycling coaches every 3 years and complaining when a team of ~70 scholarship athletes can’t hang

Saw a story on CBS news this week about the 2 fighter pilots that were sent up to intercept that plane. They scrambled so quickly, they had no missiles. Their only option was to ram their jets into the plane. One would take out the cockpit and the other was taking out the tail. By the time they got there, it was already down. Pilots talked about how those heroes saved them as well. Never heard that story. Gave me chills.

The military has "alert aircraft" on every base that has fighter planes. Alert aircraft are always armed and ready for any emergency. This may have happened but it sounds kinda skeptical. In times of emergency, the military is not gonna have to arm aircraft and then take off.
