I mean, are Barnes' teams getting better or worse? He hasn't done anything in the tournament since he's been here. He hasn't done anything period without Grant Williams, in spite of bringing in 5 star talent.



The 5 star talent isn't coming anymore either.

Why keep him? I think this is his ceiling. It's why Texas fired him. He is what he is.

Do you remember what it felt like as the Counzo-Tyndall disaster happened? Think real hard and remember how that felt. We were freaking DEAD DEAD DEAD as a hammer and Rick somehow was able to make a great team out of a bunch of rejects and nobodies..my favorite Volunteer BB team.

I think the 5 star talent is part of the problem. They come in and play like freshman. All the talent in the world but good for multiple mistakes per game. They either are good and go pro or stink and here for four years. It’s hard to have chemistry when the team turns over so quick.

It's had a few high spots under Pearl and now Barnes, but with pure mediocrity outside of those years...and now we have a bunch of idiots screaming to fire the guy that is responsible for half of those few high spots..makes sense.

6 tourney wins since 2008. SIX! SEIS! .500 winning percentage in the SEC without Grant Williams. Recruiting has tanked. 5 Million a year. 68 years old.

Better than arguably the best team we’ve had in the last two decades? No.

They also lost Kyle & Bone off that same team. I think Covid and Turner injury put us further behind the rebuild from losing that entire squad.

The SEC has also improved a lot since that team.

I don't think the team is getting better. This team is not a top 25 team. Could they improve? Maybe. I'll have to see it to believe it.

I think Barnes has reached his ceiling. He did what we needed him to do. I don't see the benefit of letting him keep going until he retires.
