A shout out to this guy in my neighborhood, Raymond.

He’s not my client but has lost over 100 pounds.

Everyday, this man jogs, barely more than a speed walk, no matter the weather, because he is committed to his plan.

This morning is the absolute worst of weather… 33 degrees and a strong freezing rain that immediately ices over every surface. It doesn’t get more miserable than that, IMO.

I drive by and my man is out there clocking in that work on the block. Nothing but respect. Rolled down the window and cheered him on as I go to my heated gym

Also in hindsight, other than his Memphis connections (which didn’t net a WR) he didn’t light Knoxville on fire recruiting wise. Haven’t kept informed on his efforts in Tallahassee, but is this an “upgrade” in that area…or coaching even?

Banks was probably a little before he got here, but how much did he have to do with bringing in Carvin, Gray, and those Memphis LB’s? Not exactly All-World guys, but seems like we pulled more recruits out of Memphis area during that stretch than we have in a pretty good while.

Umm...what?

Primary on:
Omari Thomas
Ramel Keyton
Eric Gray
Bryce Thompson
Bryson Eason
Martavius French
Tamarion McDonald
Jabari Small

I mean some of the higher rated guys haven't panned out yet or left, but those names in bold turned into good players for us. Still could see production from Eason, McDonald and Keyton even too.

Can’t believe I forgot about Small and Big O. Like I said, not world beaters, but you could argue that is the best stretch of recruiting in Memphis in at least 15, maybe 20 years.

I’m I too old fashioned to expect adults to not wear pajamas outside of their homes and Walmart?

This just screams, "I have given up." I mean I don't wear a suit and top hat everywhere I go, but I do change out of my jammies before I go Krogering.

no way i can leave in jams. nothing says 'I slept in today, while you worked', like bugs bunny jammies at grocery.

did wear house shoes last evening at Walgreens. such is the extent of my hypocrisy

I mean Small is just a sophomore and lead us in rushing yards and rushing TDs last year.

Problem was we had YAC for 2 seasons and he didn't get two years coaching the same positional group. I'd be more than happy to have him back, I think he'd fit in really well with this staff and him and Mack coaching the skill players would be a great combination with both having so much experience with RBs & WRs.

Plus those Memphis ties are no joke.

If he is not a client, you are doing it wrong

It's the best in-state year for recruiting in Alabama ever, and Harsin is just mailing it in. Love it.

Bryan Harsin's Auburn football recruiting strategy has coaches miffed

It's a recurring theme: Seven of the 14 coaches who spoke with the Advertiser had not met Harsin. Whether or not that’s a serious concern varies depending on the coach. Some believe it’s unreasonable to expect Harsin to contact every in-state school so quickly. Others said the bare minimum is to have made that a top priority by now. A number of coaches were baffled that they haven't interacted with Auburn's head coach. One said Harsin's continued absence is "just insane to me."

Montgomery Catholic Prep is another school with consistent talent. Coach Kirk Johnson has handled the football team’s recruiting for a number of years, developing ties at Auburn. He and AU defensive backs coach Zac Etheridge are close friends. Johnson calls former Auburn assistant Travis Williams “probably the best freaking recruiter I’ve ever been around.”

But Johnson was confused that “we just signed three defensive players to major universities, and only one of them had an Auburn offer.” (Two went to Clemson; the other to Tennessee.) After National Signing Day, Harsin had not visited Montgomery Catholic, which is 50 minutes from Auburn. The only time Johnson had met Harsin was during a FaceTime with Etheridge, during which the assistant coach briefly put Harsin on the phone. Auburn is now making a push for four-star 2023 running back Jeremiah Cobb from the school.

I said Memphis connections. My stated point was WIDE RECEIVER RECRUITING. How many of those puppies on your list?

YAC was here for the 2018 & 2019 recruiting cycles.

2018:
4 star Alontae Taylor (Manchester, TN)
4 star Cam Johnson (Brentwood, TN)
3 star Tykee Ogle-Kellogg (Aloca, TN)
3 star Jacolby Hewitt (Cordova, TN)
3 star Justin Oden (Columbia, TN)

2019:
4 star Lance Wilhoite (Nashville, TN)
4 star Trey Knox (Murfreesboro, TN)
3 star TJ Sheffield (Thompson's Station, TN)
3 star Jayden Harrison (Nashville, TN)
3 star Kendrell Scurry (Nashville, TN)
3 star Jaden Gibbs (Knoxville, TN)

So I guess my response is ya can't recruit Memphis WRs if they aren't there to be recruited...

In the 2020 cycle 4 star Darin Turner (Memphis, TN) was the only high rated WR and it appears we didn't "miss" on him.

I would get arrested if I went out in my "jammies".
