Another rough day on the farm. My recovering goat continues to heal, her milk sack and nipple is still there is only half attached. I'm hoping the rest will come off soon or we will likely have to have the vet remove it surgically. She is hanging in there and we are flushing the wound with betadine and water.
The old blind cat we had, her name was Oreo, passed this afternoon. Some of you may remember her from my updates of Phoenix the rescue we took in. She is doing great with her new family.
Oreo was somewhere between 16 and 18 years old. She came to us as a rescue when she was around 8, with only two teeth due to living out of dumpsters. When she came to us she had 3 absessed teeth and died on the operating table while having them removed, luckily our vet was able to bring her back. Despite all that obvious pain, with half her face swollen in unimaginable pain all she did was purr. All you had to do was talk to her her and she purred. We have her the best life we could and we with her this afternoon when she couldn't carry on any further.
I knew this day was coming, but knowing never makes it easier when it comes. My wife is taking this one harder than most, she feels guilty because we've been stretched thin with everything else going on. Please say a prayer for her, she and I are both exhausted.
Please rescue, donate your time or money if you can to rescues. You make the difference!
