Let's do. Bookmark that post and set to reminder after any loss for the upcoming 5 years.

We need to be eyeballing our strategic vision toward the late 2020s at this point and I would much rather hope that means we are in ~Y6 of Hype , even if that means ups and downs...even a barely above .500 record in 6 years (yeah I said it) than to be on our 3rd or 4th HC of the decade.

We can Johnny our way out from this like we did before. There's a formula and the past 13 years ain't it.

Gus got fired for a reason. Everyone can see it. He can't develop QB's and his offense is terrible. If it weren't for Steele and Garner, he would have been fired 4 years ago or so. I still smh at people who wanted him as HC, especially in the Knoxville sports media. It's one thing with posters on a message boards. It's totally something else when it is people who make their living commenting and acting as analysts of UT football and CFB in general. He had a long term body of work there at the Barn. It's not like there was any question. Even amateur eyes can see a HS O on the field that everybody learned how it worked - and as a result knew how to defend it.

#2 and Cornbread even beat them. People say we should have known about Botch because even Dools beat him when he coached Cincy. Same deal. Both Mahlzahn and Botch rode in the front seat of the bus as long as they could. They topped out and offered no upside. They are where they are for good reasons.

Exactly. And that fanbase down their in Orlando is about to turn on him real quick. That offensive excitement is about to be dead

…I have this strange sense that Bailey will come into a critical SEC game and go all Nathan Peterman at Florida in 2013.

Yes. Bailey has plenty of time to be a contributor here. We don't know what he's going to be yet. May be nothing. may be great. May be somewhere in between. But he has 5 years left if he wants them.

Same I always like these games so you can see young guys get shots. Mohan, Rucker, Charles and McDonald most definitely deserve a lot of snaps today. Their special teams play and effort through two games has been outstanding and they have earned it the way they were told to so they better be first in line if he wants to prove his word into actions that you earn time through special teams.
