That's a southern tradition. Even our school lunch ladies used to make it.Are you from the north? This sounds like some Yankee bullspit to me.
This is something like the Mandela effect. I've lived in the south my whole life. Never seen it or heard of it, it didn't exist until now. I think one of yall's posts about mayonnaise and fruit broke reality. That's a southern tradition. Even our school lunch ladies used to make it.

All of a sudden, I want pear salad and a banana-mayo sammich. Also about 1/2 dozen deviled eggs. This is something like the Mandela effect. I've lived in the south my whole life. Never seen it or heard of it, it didn't exist until now. I think one of yall's posts about mayonnaise and fruit broke reality.

I've seen a lot of recipe sites say "southern favorite" on dishes that have never been southern. It's just marketing. I've lived in Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina, 3 of the most OG southern states, never once heard of mayo on fruit. You're absolutely right, Yankee propaganda. This is yankee propaganda. Fake news. You’re all trapped in some weird Matrix where you believe to enjoy abominations like this
I grew up in the S GA low country and both were a staple. Follks in Chattanooga have also talked about fond memories of pear salad.I've seen a lot of recipe sites say "southern favorite" on dishes that have never been southern. It's just marketing.
