I’ll also add that dog traders can be a slimy bunch and papers can be doctored rather easily. So I would definitely recommend going a looking at their set up. If they take good care of their animals and have proper kennels there is a better chance of getting a solid dog.

Decatur co has a yearly or at least did have a yearly “worlds largest coon hunt” for St Jude. The times I’ve gone pups of all breeds were for sale there.
Unfortunately it is the first week of April.

We have a female blue tick that we got as a pup. The seller doesn’t have a website but you can find him on Facebook. His business card is in the picture below. Our pup is now middle-aged and a wonderful addition to the family. We’re so glad to have her.

[Edit] - I don’t remember exactly what we paid for her but estimate we paid around $250-300 (again, a few years ago). Paperwork was optional, which I did not pursue - I believe it would have doubled the cost, roughly. But the seller had papers on her parents and showed them to us and how to pursue the pups papers should we want them. The father was advertised as a “brother” of Smokey (same parents, different litter).

Congrats dude! It’s amazing how fast you go from washing bottles and changing diapers to reading, then school and sports, and now I almost have a teen.

It’s a roller coaster ride and I love every minute of it.
