I lived and worked in Yellowstone, the Park. Yellowstone Lake Lodge had a resident grizzly. When micturating after imbibing fermented yeast and sugar after dusk, one would dodge Bison to arrive at one's accomodations. We prob all should have carried firearms, if it werent illegal.

Plenty of days where I stood alone, pocket knife only waist deep in the Yellowstone or lake, Firehole, Madison or Gallatin with Bison, Eagles, Elk, Deer walking/flying right by me.

Was only scared one time going on a run from Lake to Canyon. Ran up on a Bison. They run 45 mph. Id have been killed. Not sure a pistol wouldve done me any good there.
