That's absolutely why Saban is complaining. But coaches like to have rules so they know where the lines are, and when they cross them. And it's not that they're afraid of crossing them, they just like to clearly know when they do so they can attempt to hide it. What won't fly is retroactive rules.
The whole problem with coaches like Saban is they've paid these players peanuts compared to what the players are getting now. $1M bought you a great team before NIL. $100,000 average per player. Now you've got individuals making $1m. They don't know what to do. There are current rules that are clearly defined. The school can't be involved in paying players. Schools like TN have done their homework and have put an airgap between the school and the collective. They're not looking for rules other than those that benefit them.

Or st Thomas, I like both.

I’ve enjoyed Andros Island in the Bahamas. No restaurants or anything like that. It’s not developed at all. Some good Airbnb options. Cook for yourself, buy a few cases of beer, and enjoy the conch fried up by locals at beachside stands. There is no one on the beach. Pristine beaches all to yourself for miles. Have been twice and loved it.

The whole country sucks. I hate that place. Ocho Rios, Negril, Falmouth, just constant harassment by the locals, it's incessant. People say "oh just stay on the resort and make sure it's a gated resort." What's the point of that? I can go to any beach resort and just sit on the beach, why not go to an island where the local culture is enjoyable too? I've been three times and hated every second of each trip outside the resort. Never again.
People are just trying to survive.

One thing worth noting is that Skankey did two things in his letter yesterday. First he prohibited all coaches from telling the truth about Saban. The reason Skankey gave was literally that telling the truth about the true cause of Saban's fraudulent success (and the sole reason Saban opposes NIL) would distract from forcing through the changes that cheating Saban wants to dictate.

Skankey: "Public criticism of any kind does not resolve issues and creates a distraction from seeking solutions for the issues facing college athletics today." Sounds innocuous.

But Skankey's very next sentence makes clear that what he means by "the issues" is doing Saban's bidding. "There is tremendous frustration [on Saban's part] concerning the absence of consistent rules from state to state related to name, image and likeness. We need to work together to find solutions [make changes for Saban] and that will be our focus at the upcoming SEC Spring."

In other words, Skankey made crooked Saban's unmerited gripe the official position of the SEC office.

He did one further thing, if you will notice (Reread the last quote, above.) Skankey showed Saban -- who has tyrannical powers but is not all that bright -- how to rephrase his outrageous, lying, and incoherent outburst for purposes of public relations and deceit. But that is the least a direct report like Skankey can do for his boss.

It is worth noting also that Sankey's statement is itself a sort of lie because it is impossible to understand NIL at all without understanding and documenting the fact that crooked Saban pays players with complete immunity from the rules and that NIL undercuts the rigging and unlevel playing field that accounts for Saban's success.

Kirby (who is grafted in by means of knowing where the bodies are buried at bammer) understood immediately that (despite appearances to the contrary) Skankey was banning only talk about his own and Saban's massive illegal payrolls, but endorsing unlimited speech repeating Saban's point (with Skankey's new more politic wording). So this morning Kirby talked to the Atlanta papers about NIL being a big problem.

In sum, Skankey has endorsed Saban-the-fraud's rant and made it the official SEC position. And ordered everyone in opposition to shut up. But the case against Saban's complaint is impossible to make without telling the truth about bammer. So -- get this -- the discussion will not be conducted on a level playing field.
Nailed it.
