There's a massive shelf and then a dropoff somewhere. I think DR?

Not sure many realize that Bahamas has a lot of National Parks, and wildlife refuges. I know it has an extensive system of underwater caves, for diving.

The most important thing is, if you want a ff grand slam, that's the place. Bonefish, Tarpon, and Permit.

Basically there's no place like it, at least in this hemisphere.
If you study the charts, there's huge drops all around the Bahamas. Tongue of the ocean resides between the Exumas and the Abaco islands. Depths to almost 6000ft. Then on the eastern side of the exumas you have equally deep seas. All the time you have 1000' of square miles of 25' depth on the banks. Coral heads everywhere (boaters be vigilant). It's a very unique place. If you're a land luber, the mountainous islands definitely are the best.Screenshot_20220521-074151_Boating.jpgScreenshot_20220521-074215_Boating.jpg

Not bad seats for the game tonight, go Canes and I caught a puck!

Can't tell if it says Game Puck or Game.... Well you know

You both need plenty of grace. Plenty! You’ll both need it. Hang in there through the rough patches. Don’t try to “fix” her when somethings wrong. Just say I understand. If you have any non-mutual female friends…. disassociate with them now. Enjoy the wedding, they go by so fast. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself or her. Pray together. Enjoy each other. Fight for your marriage. It’s worth it. You’ll both slowly diverge in a few years, but you’ll have to make a conscious effort to converge. It’s worth it. And seek counseling if she puts mayo on fruit.
Also, never keep score in terms or who does more around the house or with the kids. It leads to bitterness and resentment. Just serve each other first, then the kids.

I was fortunate enough to visit and see many of the Hawaiian isslands back in 1985 and, to me, no place on earth I have seen as it relates to islands and water compared to some of the views of the black sand beaches with deep blue south pacific waters.

Right. Like I said, for a Carribean island.

South Pacific is in a league all its own.

I thought I knew about fish until I explored GT (Giant Trevally) fishing in around Fiji. One backpack, a fly rod, one pattern and dude in video I watched had hooked 5 or 6 completely different and unique species that Id never heard of. Each at top of the food chain, each in a bad mood, and each with large eyes, teeth, and tuna like tail for pushing water.

ill see if I can hunt it up.

This isnt the video, but, feel it gets the idea across. Its Seyshelles, not Fijian*

Same type fishing can be done, granted on a smaller scale in Hawaii. There's bone and GT there. Just seems like there would be deeper, wavier water.

VolNation RF,
I’ve learned many things since following here after the 2008 recruiting class including:

1. Don’t get on hatvol’s bad side.
2. Don’t be a moran.
3. Keep a fresh supply of pocket presents.
4. Always wash your Zollicoffer.

Tomorrow I’m getting married and I could use any advice you’re willing to give.
Umm as long as you love being with said person you don’t have anything to worry about. If you and said person fight and argue and you look forward to leaving for work or other reasons then I’d run for the hills with all your stuff.

Marriage is great if you marry the right person.

Please forgive me for a moment while I brag on my youngest. Today he graduates from the University of Tennessee with his degree in electrical engineering. He's worked his backside off for four years. Many hours spent burning that midnight oil. His profs love him, pleading with him to stay and do research and get his masters. He's done though. Tired of school. I can understand that.

Thanks for letting me brag. Parent's pride is real.

Download navionics. Subscription to the US that includes the bahamas is $25/year. We'll worth it. You may find a little hole down around New smyrna that holds a few reds that you didn't know about.
Im fairly skiddish about wade fishing the Lagoon due to tanic water and inability to see stingrays. Ya know, in Edgwater you're in County. One nasty cut or a bite and its 30 minutes from City for Emergency response.

Ill get onto a sand bar or oyster bed with shoes, and sight fish.

Id love to use this app to explore Merritt Island Refuge Area. All behind Cape Canaveral. Its untouched.

Thanks.

My BiL went back last year for Masters. Wont most employers pay? Or is that something he would have to foot on his own?

Congrats btw.

I get it. We fish out of kayaks launching at JB's or going south into the park. Had the poo scared out of me, not by a shark, not by a stingray, but a manatee. Never knew they could move so quickly and violently.

Some engineers go back for their MBA instead of a Master’s in the same discipline.
Yeah, I have a friend where his son graduated last spring with his ME degree and will graduate with his MBA in December. I've encouraged him to look at that option too. His goal is to open his own firm eventually so that would serve him well.

just paddling against the outgoing or a rip, should be an indicator of how strong those creatures are.

JB's is great. Def an unheralded destination. Not many places like that around, Florida.

My oldest caught her first saltwater fish there, and a Conch. 🤣

Many great stories started there or at the tackle shop up the road. Great for livebait, and limearitas.

Always agree with her and then just do what you were going to do. Remember, she is heavenly sand paper. :)

Haven't been back since my mom passed. Lots of memories at NSB. Basically went every year except 2-3 years since 1983. We have saved some of dad's ashes to scatter there soon. Probably try and get back down in the fall. We've seen that place transform over the years.

Yup, 1995 here.

Entire corridor along mainland will become retail.

The small, local feel made it special. Certainly unlike any place ive visited. Despite the 12 hours drive, with kids we'd go again.

Should research Turtle mound for the ashes, pretty spitirual place. There is legistlation (or was) in FL with that area claiming oldest inhabitance in US, even moreso than St Aug.

Have you been to Thailand and their islands? I have not but would love to one day.
I went with some friends who had to leave early. I met some strangers from different parts of the world. We partied for a few days and ended up swimming out to this secret island. There was a group of mercenaries growing pot we had to escape from, but we ran across a group of hippies who built a community there. Ended up staying there for a month or more. It was pretty wild. . . 😆

Do you recall a restaurant called stormy's? When started going, the only bridge over was the drawbridge. Stormy's was on that old road. You can Google it. Lots of drama around it. It was on one of the major crime shows.
