I'm surprised they didn't do it before regionals. They've already warned UT to contain the coat and hat to the dugout and wanted UT to stop it weeks ago. They went after other schools, too, but UT is the one that's really gotten under their skin. SEC has been an a$$ about it, too. They've been concerned about excessive celebrations causing "volatile" situations, and UT's fanbase is always the poster school for that, thanks to the media.

UT has known people were gunning for them and didn't take it seriously enough. I expect UT to focus their anger and take care of business tomorrow, with Omaha on the line. But if this is going to be nanny sports, they'd better ban those damn cowbells.
It might be worth it if they get rid of the cowbells

LSU has a literal damn tiger outside of visitor locker rooms in football do they not? How is that not “intimidation”

To be honest. Thats pretty cool
Absolutely. Just pointing out the lengths other sports get to go to while baseball is consistently forced to be the most emotionless dull game as far as ego and personality is concerned.

The same people that demand baseball be kept this way, are the ones who lament how soft society has become while actively promoting it in baseball. Can’t hurt the pitchers feelings lest he try to literally kill you with a 95mph fastball to the dome.

Terrible officiating in nearly every major sport, and no accountability? AA sees no problem there.

Kids having fun playing those sports?

I agree with your overall point, but your specific example is a bad one. The intentional throws to the head have no place in baseball.

It is interesting how many people lament the softness of society while insisting golf and baseball be as boring as possible.

I think the fur coat had run its course and UT most likely would have moved on from it next year, anyway. Team will have different leaders and a different vibe next year. But the media will continue to look for inciting clickbait. They exacerbate the issues, as does the sour grapes complaining from other programs on the losing end of the celebrations. They don't complain when they win-- just when the Vols make beating them look easy.

This was bound to happen before the CWS. They weren't going to tolerate much there.

I agree.. I’m saying it’s a bitch move to do that because a celebration hurt your feewings:-/

Well is the ncaa going to do the same in football and basketball. People wearing chains and outfits after touchdowns. Our will the hypocrisy stand. Funny how it is accepted and cool in football but we start it in baseball and suddenly it’s different. I say we just lay down a serious arse whipping to the Irish tomorrow. The NCAA is like a train wreck that can’t get out of it’s way.
Womens started props on the field…. Big blow up a few years back when the ncaa banned them entirely while still allowing mens teams to have them.

I watch the Georgia bulldogs (for example) with their football celebration and it's crickets. This is complete BS.

I just saw that southern miss just got screwed out of a grand slam that would've changed the game completely
It was a fair ball and an erased grand slam.

There is video of the ball taken from outside of fair territory looking into the field of play and the ball from that angle clearly passes behind the fair-foul pole: in other words it was demonstrated on camera to have left the field of play clearly inside fair territory. I don't see how that call was not overturned. It was like a field goal that sailed inside the uprights traveling at an angle so that it ultimately touched ground outside the right upright. Unless the rule says that where the ball touches down is determinative. But how could that be?

Edit: I posted the video of what I described (above) at #163,365. @Devo182 then posted a still shot that disputes what I (and the announcers) saw or seemed to see, together with a So Miss fan account claiming that it was foul at #163,381.
