That's why I hate Butch Jones the most out of all the failed coaches.

He was the worst because his gameplans were terrible. I think he was the worst in game coach we've had seriously. Yeah Pruitt took the reigns from Chaney and kept JG on the field, but the play calling was not as idiotic.

All those STUPID flood plays! QB draws on third and 6! Unbelievable inconsistency.

Lying to the players

He was as fake as a Kardashians face.

We should have sleep walked into two SEC east titles. I really don't think if given the same rosters, Pruitt, Kiffin and Dooley would have beaten UGA and FLA and lost to Vandy and USCjr.
Hate is a pretty strong word... and some have a pretty triggered reaction when I say this... but that's why I think he was the worst hire.

Kiffin was disloyal. Kiffin was and is about Kiffin. But the guy could coach and the staff he assembled was very good.

Dooley to me was more to be pitied than hated. He started drowning the day he took the job. I really think his undoing was 3 fold. He inherited HUGE roster issues. He tried to be "human" with his coaching staff and minimize their recruiting travel hours. And he lost Wilcox and Sirmon at exactly the wrong time.... and made an AWFUL hire to replace Wilcox. What he did in recruiting coupled with what he inherited meant he was never going to have a roster with the talent and depth to compete. But he and his staff also put some guys in the NFL. Maybe more than you would expect considering the record. He left Jones what should have been the best OL in the SEC.

Jones- I agree with you and will add that he tried too hard to be "cool"... and came off looking like a goob.

Pruitt- he was old school both in the way he coached and the way he handled players. After Jones, his coaching style was probably a welcome relief. At least they could feel like they were being coached. I think Fulmer hired him to prove that what he did in the 90's would still work today. Pruitt was probably one of the few guys in the business who agreed with him. It failed miserably and then he got caught being "old school" in recruiting too.

We could’ve at least had a Sugar Bowl if we’d just beaten Vandy. Vandy! We had a 24-7 lead at one point, I think. Dobbs was something like 31-34. I’ve always wanted to see Tennessee in a Sugar Bowl (I was too young to remember the last time we went in 1991).

Butch Jones. That idiot.
that was the angriest that I have ever been after a Tennessee game.
