Great haul in the portal this year for the baseball team.
It's almost like players want to come play for the coach and find the culture attractive. That can't be true, though, because all the uppity baseball media and gatekeeping fans told us that we the worst thing to happen to college baseball.

Am I the only one who sees that Beamer looks like Wee-man from Jack@ss?........

I don’t know why that bothers our fans so much…. I want to be the bad boys of baseball…. I relish it and would love for our football team to be looked at the same way… kind of like the old Hurricane teams….. Let’s embrace the reputation.

@Cosmo Kramer going to Chicago for anniversary. What’s the best pizza place?
Gino's East and Lou Malnati's are the two best for true Chicago style pizza (don't listen to the weirdos who claim thin crust is the TRUE chicago style). LM is probably my favorite, Gino's is a little thicker and heavier crust, but a lot of my Chicago friends say Gino's is the best.

I’m happy about the gender, but I do have to have kids until a boy pops out if I don’t want to be the last of my name. The buck stops with me. My dad’s two brothers somehow had a total of 5 daughters and no boys.
The girl could always hyphenate or have her children take her last name if it were that important.

Regardless, they're all blood...girls...boys...and grandchildren from each. The whole namesake thing is...well...silly if we're talking about things that actually matter. Not you, but many people have used it for far too long as a way to devalue daughters and girls. It's just silly and screams of ego and tradition for nothing but tradition's sake.

Congrats on the incoming Vol. Raise her right (clad in Pantone 151) and don't let her fall prey to that USCjr/Clemson cult down there 🥳

Mine just facetimed me to tell me she misses me.

Then other one jumped in, same thing.

Girls rock.

I combined my posts for you. There are several great local pizza spots but not close to the tourist areas. Lou Malnati’s is my personal favorite of the ones downtown. Local Deep Dish Pizza places are Pequods and D'agostinos (half a mile west of Wrigley Field).

Walking through Lincoln Park is a must do. Beautiful scenery with the Chicago Skyline just South of you. The North Pond restaurant in Lincoln Park is a great romantic spot for Dinner. Need reservations and be prepared to spend $200 at a minimum (its on the Northern end of Lincoln Park). Navy Pier, Millennium Park and Grant Park are downtown. ( The Bean, Buckingham Fountain, Crown Fountain, etc). Walking along the Waterfront is really fun.

Standing on the North Avenue Beach, Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium have amazing views of the city. 360 Degree Observation deck on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Building. Much better view than at the top of Sears( Willis) Tower. Also the Signature Lounge on the 96th floor at the John Hancock is a great spot for drinks.

Night Time Chicago River Cruise is a must. They start at Michigan Ave Bridge. Just walk down the steps ( also several bars on the water there). I love the Museum of Science and Industry. It’s the only thing worth going to the South Side for IMO... Field Museum is good too. Never been to the Art Institute of Chicago. Not an art museum fan.

Really cool area is at the North end of downtown. The very end of Rush Street connects to State Street. This area is called the Triangle. There is a Lou Malnati's there along with many other restaurants and bars. Another need area is on Clark street by Wrigley Field with about 200 Bars side by side. Wrigley Field does tours you would just check their website for times.

Probably my favorite restaurant is the Girl and the Goat. Reservation is definitely needed. Very unique menu. Au Cheval might be the best Cheeseburger you will ever eat. (been voted best in America by the Food Network). Its very close to the Girl and the Goat. You have to go there not at your standard lunch or dinner time or the wait will be tremendously long.

Best Advice for the whole Trip. Keep your wife off the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Ave if you want to be able to pay your Credit Card Bill that month. LOL

Never been to the Art Institute? Do you even Ferris Bueller bro?

I've seen a lot of dumb pre-season rankings over the years but that's got to be worst. Hooker was #3 in the country for QB rating last year, #4 in ypa, 12th in TDs, I could go on. But yeah, he's the #23 QB in 2022. Just bizarre.
Fwiw he didn't rank that highly (#3, #4 etc) by PFF itself. They watch each play and imo will see past some schematic advantages Heupel offers everyone on the offense. Also look at things QBR does not (sacks, throwaways, misses, actual accuracy, etc).

Same reason Heupel can scheme up insane offenses, Hooker be #3 in QBR, but it didn't mean Hooker was top-half draft ready last year either.

For UT fans it's sort of a moot point because we do, in fact, have Heupel's offense scheming things up regardless. So we'll get the production anyway. But Hooker certainly has major room to improve in not taking sacks (one of the big things he was knocked for) and missing fewer deep shots. But we'll produce bigtime regardless.

Appreciate the reply and I've actually been looking at IOP. But we're not just wanting to go to a SC beach, we're wanting specifically to stay at Hilton Head.

I would start with looking at what’s available through the Sea Pines group. We typically stay at one of their many rental options in HH and they often offer specials and discounts like free meals, golf, tennis, etc.
