Do you get paid to remember and critique innocuous message board posts? Hopefully you have found a way to monetize this, um, skill? If not, I just don't get it.

Every time you get butthurt, I get a buck. It’s a cottage industry. :)

True but taking a HS QB in this class shouldn't hurt being able to get a big time recruit in 19.

That’s besides the point lol you’re not following.

If we can’t land a HS QB the coaches feel confident can be more than another body, why bother? There’s no point in wasting a scholarship on a kid who isn’t good enough to play just because we need more depth.

If that’s the case, then a grad transfer makes more sense than a HS recruit. Bring him in, let him compete for a year or two and be the emergency backup, then move on.

I follow that but let's face it.
If this staff can't find a QB that has some potential in this class that's a problem.

“Let’s face it?” lol nobody is debating that not finding a good QB in this class is a problem, Bruin.

It is and it sucks. But it’s late in the process and most of the top QBs have settled in and picked a school, so unless we find one willing to flip over the next 2 1/2 months, the pickings are slim.

I can't imagine we asked Penix to look around if the coaches weren't confident in a qb recruit

Jack West from AL. Pruitt was his recruiter for BAMA according to 247.

Jack West, Saraland, Pro-Style Quarterback

Also, McKee has 10 CBs all pointing toward Stanford.

There it is. Good catch. Been looking for the Pruitt/Bama connection. Swap McKee into Stanford that has a stable of QB's against West being able to compete at UT day one. Hope that happens.

I misunderstood your stance. I thought you were suggesting That taking a grad transfer was an acceptable result.

So Penix doesn't fit in our O?

Probably would fit with KY

My stance is that it could be a better option than taking a HS QB just for the sake of taking one

Ok I can buy that but It depends on what you mean by taking one just to take one. McBride had that feel last year but he has some tools. He is just undersized and that's why he wasn't a big Power 5 recruit IMO. I would be fine talking another kid like him that is just a little short in an area.
