Penix moving on doesn't bother me. To say I trust this staff to evaluate and find players who fit their system more than the previous one would be an understatement. I also don't want a Tennessee QB whose last name will be mistaken for penis countless times over these next four years.

Ok I can buy that but It depends on what you mean by taking one just to take one. McBride had that feel last year but he has some tools. He is just undersized and that's why he wasn't a big Power 5 recruit IMO. I would be fine talking another kid like him that is just a little short in an area.

If we can find a kid like McBride, sure. Not sure there’s one out there, though.

I remember reading that same article! Thought we had one of the elite QBs sewed up and remember thinking, “watch this little kid become the Aaron Rodgers of the whole bunch”. Prolly should stick with Cal to increase those odds.
